Terrible place

We had originally rented Stoney Brook, but it was a nightmare and the agent moved us to Kensington house. We were also promised “a bottle of wine and some dining certificates” for our inconvenience; however, no one ever bothered to call and see if Kensington House was ok! It certainly was not!!!
We have rented cabins in this area several times a year for the past several years. We look forward to -- and have always had a clean, well furnished cabin with a great view, clean hot tub, fully appointed kitchen, etc.
Stoney Brook did not appear to have been inhabited or maintained for a very long time. The hot tub was filthy, leaking and extremely dated. There was virtually no comfortable furniture in the house, huge gaps under all the doors (which would allow all manner of wildlife to enter), no lights in the extremely dark stairway to the upstairs. The musty smell was extremely strong. We never succeeded in getting either car up the driveway. There was no way we could have spent a night there.
Kensington House is a little better than Stoney Brook but still totally inadequate as a rental. It does seem to be clean and the beds and furniture are comfortable. The kitchen is in terrible shape. Several drawers and cabinet doors either won't open or won't close -- or are nailed shut. The hot tub -- once we found it -- is dirty and in a very dark, weedy area next to the incredibly loud busy road in front. There was lots of traffic all day and night. The mold and mildew in the bathrooms was incredible!! The WiFi worked only sporadically. We feel that the descriptions and photos on the website are very misleading. We are so disappointed that the accommodations completely spoiled our fall getaway and we certainly could never recommend any of these properties to our friends or family.
