Thanks for finding us! Relax at the end of your day in a townhouse that a former Supreme Court Chief Justice once called home. Three comfy bedrooms give everyone lots of room. A cook’s kitchen and separate dining room, plus a patio, make this a real home away from home!
You won’t find other digs so right-in-the-middle-of-it-all: Stroll to a Metro hub, the National Mall, or the new Nationals baseball stadium.
Just one block south is Washington's marina. From there, it's a short walk east along the Potomac River to the Jefferson Memorial and Tidal Basin paddleboats, the Holocaust Museum, the FDR Memorial, the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, and the Washington Monument.
Heading north, it's just 6 blocks to the Smithsonian Air & Space and other museums along the National Mall.
To the southwest are Nationals Park, and the National Defense University. Also, Fort Leslie McNair's grassy expanses, where military bands regularly perform on summer evenings.
Just across the Potomac River are Haines Point's golf course and park.
To get around hassle-free, hop on the subway at L'Enfant Plaza - four blocks away. Or catch city bus #74, which runs between Nationals Park and the Convention Center, passing the Mall, Verizon Center and the restaurants at Gallery Place.
One off-street parking space is included. An extra parking space may be available - please ask.
Owners are long-time DC residents and neighbors, and are happy to answer questions and share tips for visitors.

We found this place to be perfect for our plans. It is about 6 blocks south of the Air & Space Museum. It was very convenient both for walking and driving to more remote sites. Grocery & restaurants are nearby. The owner was very responsive. The parking space was initially filled so she offered us hers. The house was well kept inside and felt like home when we got back from a busy day. This is the place to stay if you are visiting DC.
My colleagues and I rreally enjoyed staying in this beautiful and perfectly situated townhome for our conference. It was a short walk to the Metro and we could even walk the entire distance to the Renaissance Hotel where our conference was being held. This was a cozy and economical way for our group to all attend the meeting on limited travel budgets. As three women who work closely together, it was a mixture of work and relaxation to be able to come back to a quiet, spacious home where we could all have our own room but also relax together in the airy living room and lovely dining area. Plus, we could make sure we had our own special coffee (rather than hotel coffee) in the am! Kitchen was well stocked. Home was clean and comfy. We felt very safe in the neighborhood and one of my colleagues really enjoyed being able to run in the am (at 5am!) feeling safe with all of the other runners (and the various security guards and military personnel) who were also up and about on the National Mall at that time of day. Deborah was a truly wonderful person with whom to work. I really apprecaite her clear instructions for everything AND we all really appreciated her providing us with the Metro passes (on which we could load additional funds for extra travel). A fantastic stay! I have stayed in this same location before and as the first time, had a FANTASTIC experience. Will be back!
Our extended family from different states meet up for a long weekend in DC. The three bedroom and 2.5 bath was very comfortable for us with 6 adults and two children. It was an easy walk up 7th st to get to the National Mall museums. Place was clean, stocked with alot kitchen equipment to make meals (we enjoyed the espresso machine and where bumped we didn't take advantage of the wafflemaker), movies, and books. If going to DC again, I would definitely go here first. The owner was very friendly ensuring we had the proper directions to get there and even made sure we got in safe. It was really cold outside and she made sure the place was warm for our arrival. Our age range of our group was from age 3 to 61- we were all very happy.
We rented this property with another couple for 3 days. The house was warm, friendly, and comfortable. The owner was friendly and helpful. The parking was extremely convenient for unloading and loading luggage. It was very close to the Smithsonian but we took taxis and Uber. We felt very secure it was a nice neighborhood. We would defiantly stay again and for a longer period of time.
We just returned from our winter vacation to this house and the city of DC. The house is nice. It is somewhat close to the subway and has a grocery store and starbucks close by as well. We looked for some seafood restaurants but we had already walked so far and were just tired so we gave up. The house had little extras that are nice for when you arrived on a plane, like a hair dryer and umbrella and dish detergent and so forth. The house had lots of room and an extra bed in the master which was nice because my daughter didn't want to sleep with her brother.
My only hesitation in writing this review is that word will get out and this property will be booked for my next trip to D.C.
The home is beautiful, spacious, clean, equipped with tons of little things to make your stay pleasant (e.g. an umbrella, lots of games for the kids to play, metra cards ready for you to charge, a safeway card... really the most 'at home' place we've ever stayed).
The owner was incredibly responsive, even on weekends. Thanks, Deborah!
The location is fantastic--not a long walk to the mall, and an even shorter walk to the green line to go to the mall or convention center. Starbucks and cafe two blocks away. Easy walk down to the crazy but delicious open-air fish market.
