This Beautiful Chalet has 6 Luxurious Bedrooms all with ensuite Bathrooms.

Chalet 'Fleur d'Aulps' (formerly Brown Bear Chalet) is a beautiful traditional alpine farmhouse dating from 1796. The building was converted to a ski chalet with care and respect for its history, and has recently undergone a luxurious renovation.

The Chalet has 6 well-appointed bedrooms with beautifully equipped ensuites. The two Suite style Master bedrooms both have Baths and Showers. Master bedrooms also have televisions.

Downstairs there is a fabulous open plan living area featuring an open fire and snug area to sit and read or play chess!

The cosy 40 Sq M kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a self catered Holiday with all new modern appliances.The large table easily seats 12 people.Dishwasher Fridge,Oven etc There is also a Laundry/Store room with washing machine and Tumble dryer, additional fridge and lots of storage space.

There is a spacious sauna room which features another Bathroom with both bath tub and shower for your convenience and a separate toilet. There is lots of ski and boot storage in the hallway upstairs and a further hallway downstairs.

Outside there is a large south-facing terrace of nearly 300 sq.m. with a large stone fire pit, hot tub, and spectacular views of the valley and mountains. Wifi, satellite TV, DVD & video are available. Washing machine & dryer are available. Parking site for 6 cars outside the chalet. The chalet is secluded and near a river which can be heard when the windows are open. Access in winter may require snow tyres, 4x4 or chains. A truly beautiful Chalet to have the perfect vacation.

We had a great holiday. Made by a number of factors including great skiing and superb weather but of course a number of other important factors also made our holiday complete. It was great knowing that every day we were returning to such a warm welcoming chalet with a really well laid out living area, great kitchen for family meals (we had 12 round the table every night with plenty of space), relaxing hot tub and spacious comfy bedrooms. The chalet was well furnished and clean. We really enjoyed the open fire in the evenings. Being welcomed in person and shown round – at short notice showed a personal touch.

Location

Chalet Fleur is set away down a private road approx. 500 metres from the road. Private and not overlooked. It is a couple of km out of St Jean D’Alpes where there are numerous shops including supermarket, pharmacist, other typical French shops, couple of bars, one makes really nice pizzas . Ample parking at chalet for 4-5 cars if required. A shopping service was provided which was really helpful for our first couple of days shopping – which we didn’t really want to do after a long day travelling.

Living areas

The main living area was on the ground / downstairs where lounge and kitchen are located, although nicely segregated, with the lounge leading out through patio doors onto a large patio with easy access to the hot tub. The lounge was well appointed with comfy sofas and the open fire was a real focus and made the area come to life. It was great knowing that every day we were returning to such a warm welcoming chalet. The kitchen was perfect for family meals. The kitchen was very well equipped with two large fridges and an Aga. The whole chalet was very clean. We really enjoyed the open fire in the evenings.

Bedrooms

The bedrooms are well furnished and the beds were really comfy. We got a good night’s sleep every night. All bedrooms en-suite.

Hot Tub

Hot tub was gloriously hot every night and with gowns and towels the 20 feet walk in sub 10 degrees temperature was refreshing.



We accessed Avoriaz using the Ardent ski-lift We didn’t have to queue longer than a couple of minutes on any day. We accessed Morzine / Let Gets by using the Nyon cable lift.

We had a fabulous skiing holiday. Part of making it a great holiday was knowing that every day we were returning to such a warm welcoming luxurious chalet, where we could relax in comfort and recount the stories from the day. There was plenty of space for 6 teenagers to do their own thing !

A perfect holiday

We had a fantastic holiday and were very happy with the chalet. It is comfortable and in reality even nicer and bigger than it seems on the pictures.

We enjoyed the hot-tub, the location (quiet in the wood, on the end of a small track, but not too isolated), a 10-15 minutes drive to Morzine, the big fire-log, and the fact that the children could play in the snow (sliding) directly outside the chalet.

There was enough room for all of us (6 adults and 7 children) easily.

In fact the chalet was so nice that we didn't even ski every day the whole day, but some of us were happy to stay at the chalet in the morning or afternoon, because it was so comfortable. We were also pleasantly surprised about the catering, and the wonderful food Sue made for us.

Luxery Ski Experience

A large Chalet in a beautiful village. The chalet offers a very large living room with open fire and a big kitchen with a large table that easily fits 12. Very nice Sauna for after skiing. Bedrooms are large, all with own bathroom. Enough parking space for at least 5 cars and a really big terrace to sit outside in the sun. The local ski pistes at St. Jean are within walking distance (up hill), the Port-du-Soleil area can be reached by car, 8 minutes drive to Morzine, with free parking. Between St. Jean and Morzine is a large supermarket.

Chalet is suitable for families with kids.

Definitely staying again in this Chalet in 2009.

Vaste chalet parfaitement équipé.

Un séjour très réussi grâce au charme du chalet, à son équipement varié et haut de gamme.

Le chalet Fleur est un grand chalet refait à neuf dans le respect de l'esprit montagnard. Les matériaux utilisés et le mobilier ont été soigneusement choisis. Chacune des pièces est très agréable à vivre. La vaste cuisine et son garde-manger sont particulièrement bien pensés, attenant au salon sans être complètement séparés. La cheminée donne beaucoup de charme à la pièce principale. Le chalet est très bien équipé en électro-ménager (il nous a fallu nous familiariser avec la cuisinière AGA), la literie est particulièrement confortable. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le sauna à l’intérieur et le jacuzzi à l’extérieur.

Il ne faut pas plus de 5 minutes en voiture pour rejoindre le domaine skiable du roc d’enfer.

Il faut savoir que le chemin d’accès au chalet peut être difficile en fonction de l’enneigement. Un 4x4 ou les chaines peuvent s’avérer indispensables simplement pour rejoindre la route.

Le seul point négatif à mentionner concerne une légère odeur d’un côté de la terrasse provenant de la fosse septique, peu gênant l’hiver, mais il faut espérer que ce problème soit résolu avant l’été.

Chalet Fleur is situated in St. Jean d'Aulps which is just is a 10 minute drive to Montriond from where you can access the whole of The Porte Du Soliel Ski Area. You ascend into Avoriaz and ski over into Switzerland! A further 5 Minutes by car takes you into Morzine and the popular ski Village with all its attractions and the Ski Areas of Morzine, Les Gets. On your door step of the chalet (500 meters) is also the smaller ski area of La Grande Terche, ideal for beginners, however it also has many red runs and the Roc Enfore Curcuit for more intermediate skiers, and a great Apres Ski scene with lots of little restaurants. Fantastic place to access the many ski areas the area has to offer. In the Summer the area turns into Europes best Mountain Biking region. Contact us about our Summer programmes. Yoga, interval training programmes, Hiking, Mountain Biking are just some of the many activities. Explore the whole area taking in Evian, Thonon, Les Bains, and Geneva. Mont Blanc and Chamonix are approximately one hour south of the chalet.

Notes:
This superbly renovated (2004) charming chalet (built in 1796) is situated at the very end of a small road just 200 metres away from the lift station La Grande Terche. Morzine is just 10 minutes by car. Because of its superb location, you only hear the birds and the river below at 100 metres from the Chalet.
