|Minimum Stay||4 - 7 nights|
Golf Home 17, located directly behind the 7th Tee of Black Butte Ranch's Big Meadow championship course with Cascade mountain views has been our vacation paradise for 25 years. Prior to this, our family rented this wonderful place every summer for 10 years.
We've never wanted to stay anywhere else on the Ranch! We keep it in immaculate condition.
Furnishings are eclectic with a mix of modern, traditional and antique. Single level floor plan is 1,800 sq. ft., plus double garage. There are three excellent Queen sized beds, two twins and a trundle bed.
The kitchen is fully stocked. The deck extends 60 feet across the back of the house, with two picnic tables, a 'sunbrella' and ample seating.
This is a great place to enjoy a family vacation. Golfers consider our home their ideal choice during all parts of the extended golfing season. The deck and living room windows offer an unmatched view of every drive off the tee. After hours access to the golf course is always fun for frisbee, walking, etc.
Located on Fiddleneck Lane, our quiet location is within an easy bike ride of two swimming pools, the main Lodge, canoeing, Recreation Barn (and climbing wall in summer), tennis courts, ball field, Restaurants, Big Meadow Club House and the driving range. In winter, one can often cross country ski right from our door and Hoodoo Ski Area is less than 15 miles away.
The house has mountain views of Three Fingered Jack, Mt Jefferson and Black Butte.
We live in Tacoma, WA. I am a Portland, OR native and my wife is from El Paso, TX.
In retirement I co-manage a project to refurbish/repair bicycles, 'Bikes for Kids' for our church; we both are Hospice volunteers and active in Scottish Terrier Rescue Northwest.
Black Butte Ranch is the perfect place for our vacation home, as it is at the transition point between Oregon's High Desert and the beautiful Oregon Cascades. We are an outdoor family and can enjoy the combination of the warm dry desert weather and the cool, green mountain air.
Bill Peterson purchased this house in 1990
We rented this house for 10 years of family vacations and purchased it from the owners when they decided to sell over 20 years ago. Black Butte Ranch is in a world class location with countless recreational opportunities. We love to share this unique property with others.
We continue to enjoy entertaining family and friends, but we must admit that most of our time here is spent keeping the house in top condition; it has truly been a labor of love. We like to watch the golfers, we walk, bike, swim and play tennis. We have used our house as a base of operations for extensive hiking, backpacking and climbing in the Three Sisters and Mt Jefferson Wilderness areas. My spouse loves tennis and the nationally acclaimed Sisters Quilt Show in July. Our grandsons and I love the annual Sisters Rodeo in June. There is no better place to enjoy a good book or take a nap by the fire.
Black Butte was our "go to" vacation spot when our kids were young. Now, returning after many years we enjoyed it as much as we did back then. We had great weather and spent our time walking and biking the trails, hiking Black Butte, swimming and going to Sisters and McKenzie pass.
We are very comfortable in your ranch home. We loved the addition of the bunk/game room and bath. It is on a quiet street and has everything we need for a great vacation. It was nice to use the bikes you provide rather than carry ours on the car. We enjoyed watching the golfers tee off the 7th hole and the green grass off the deck. Our dog went on long walks with us and watched the bunnies, squirrels and birds. We're so glad we returned with our son and my sister and her husband. We look forward to bringing our grandkids with us in the future. Thanks for sharing your Black Butte home with us.
My husband and I have stayed here the past four Memorial Day weekends. The location is good: easy to bike or drive to anywhere on ranch. Good mountain view from front yard and we enjoy watching golfers and birds from the deck! twe have stayed here with one or two other couples but house would also work well for a family with kids. The owner is easy to communicate with, appreciates feedback! The addition of wireless this year was appreciated! House is well stocked:Kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots and pans, good supply of towels, blankets, etc.
We plan to return next year for our 5th stay.
We had the best time. Great for family reunions. Lots of space and the back room was perfect for the kids to play while the adults relaxed on the back deck watching the golfers... just watch out for the 9:15pm golf course sprinklers... we tried to get the kids wet, but they were too smart for us.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the wonderful memories!!!
We just got back from a wonderful week at your house. It was very spacious and we loved that the kids room was so big and just far enough away from the adults! We spent every morning and evening on the deck watching the golfers tee off! What a remarkable experience! Everything was just perfect. We would definately love to come back and strongly reccomend your home to others.
We had a great stay this winter. It was the perfect size - we had 2 families (4 adults, 3 kids). The family room was great for the kids - it's at the end of the hall so the kids could get to sleep early without us waking them up, and they really enjoyed the space, toys, and games. Note, there are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds, the family room with 3 twin beds, and a third queen bed is in an alcove off of the living room, with a sliding screen between it and the living room. That's not very clear from the house description, but the setup worked just great for us. The house is very well maintained, well stocked, and clean. It's not fancy - but for us that was part of the appeal. It's a place you can be comfortable in. It's on a very quiet street and the views of the snow-covered golf course were lovely. The golf tee behind the house made a perfect sledding hill. All in all, we had a wonderful time.
