It's hard to find a property that meets all my requirements - comfortable, clean, affordable, near/on the lake and accepts dogs - ta da! This was it! Rarely can I sleep anywhere but home, but both of the beds in this cabin were so comfy! And great linens and other details - all nice quality and it didn't feel like it was furnished with items from the thrift store or things people left behind! Three coolers made it comfortable until evening rolled around and it got a great cross breeze. The deck was large and had plenty of seating. The upstairs loft had amazing views and a comfy futon to sit and reflect while looking out. My husband made use of their private dock and caught many fish. The yard was nice with a hammock and glider, picnic table and big grill. My only complaint was that the yard wasn't fully fenced as I had thought from the photos, so I could just let the dogs ramble around but had to take them on the leash every potty trip. A bit of an inconvenience, but not bad - and once I blocked off the deck, they could hang with me outside and enjoy the views and watching all the birds and listening to all the boats going by - very busy lake. And we were greeted with a super clean place AND homemade cookies - yum! It's a narrow gravel road from the main road and from the dock - but easily walked or driven to get back and forth. It seems like you are way out of town, but there are services not five minutes away! Very nice and great hosts!
The Alpine Chalet was great, unfortunately the temperature was a bit warm and muggy, so sleeping was a little difficult. Luckily the fan upstairs is quiet and strong. The surroundings were beautiful, the view of the lake spectacular. We only stayed 3 days, but wished it could have been longer. This is a great place for a small family or 2 couples (but will share a bath). The deck is wonderful and it is a plus to have a washer/dryer because with all of the outdoor activities, you can get really dirty!!! All in all, it was a great trip and I would like to come back again. The owners of the cabin were very hospitable and we had fresh cookies and a bottle of wine waiting for us!!
Thank You Martha!!!
We spent our time hiking, fishing, cycling...so not too much down time!
We came the week after memorial day in 2012 and this home was so CLEAN and even nicer in person than it looked in the pictures! The view was beyond fantastic and it felt like we were looking at a little piece of heaven! To wake up every morning with that view was such a blessing. I came with my Mom and my two little boys and we took a day to go to Silverwood and a local park to wear ourselves out. Then we relaxed and read books enjoying that view! It was close enough to town to run and grab some takeout when we didn't feel like cooking. It even had a place to do laundry which was a huge plus with my two little guys - toddlers tend to get more food on their clothes than their mouths theheheh. Loved it, Loved it, Loved it! Thank you so much for sharing your home!
So glad we choose this rental! It was even better than the pictures!SO CLEAN, which is always important to me. We enjoyed the deck with it's amazing view. The house had everything we needed. The beds and bedding were very comfy. It is secluded and quiet, yet close to the action of town. The new dock for the boat we rented was so nice, and just a short walk down the hill from the house. The owners are right next door, and very helpful if you need them! Thank you so much for the great Labor Day weekend! Hope to return again next summer!!
We stayed here with a friend that came in for Ironman week. It was as advertised- lovely views and and lovely house. Dont hesitate to rent this lovelt chalet !
This property worked out wonderfully for my family. It was described perfectly and as clean as pictured. It was close enough to town, but secluded enough to be private and quiet. My elderly parents, especially my father who has challenging health issues, was able to watch the lake activity from the deck. The owner was as delightful as the email messages led me to believe. This was a good one! Thanks again, Martha!!
