Dolphin research center is close by. They are dedicated to the training, studying and protection of the Dolphins. You can reserve a spot to swim with the Dolphins.
If you turn left at the K-Mart on Sombrero Beach Road you'll find the nicest beach in the Middle Keys.
Pigeon Key, a tiny 5 acre island just below the 7 mile bridge was once the home to the workers that built Henry Flagler's Railroad which connected the Keys. Enjoy a walk out on the old seven mile bridge to get to the island.
Be sure to visit Crane Point Hammock and Nature Center. There is a museum and a children's museum as well. One of the trails will take you to the Marathon Wild Bird Center which is a hospital for the many species of birds we have here.
Also, visit the Turtle Hospital Educational Tour. It is a 45 minute educational guided tour.
