Such a pleasant vermont farmhouse to vacation in and include family and friends. Kim couldn't have been nicer and saw to our every need if one arose. The house was very clean and well appointed ,kitchen great, and the outside was a wonderful place to relax. Thank you Jennings family. We will be back!,
The Waitsfield home is a lovely place to holiday. The setting is so nice, surrounded by trees and fields. It just a short walk/drive to the town of Waitsfield. The house itself has such history and really gives you a sense of pastoral Vermont. I liked having a coffee in the early morning on the porch and taking walks down the gravel road that runs in front of the house. You also get a sense of the active community. A smattering of runners and people out walking their dog will wander past intermittently throughout the day. The kids (1 ½ and 3 ½ ) had a great time playing on the property and created a play area the enormous front hall. Kim was thoughtful on so many levels, including leaving a lot of toys for the kids to enjoy. We also had great fun using the griddle to make pancakes in the morning. The house was perfectly located for us as we could spend each day in a rhythm of hiking, swimming in the river, and grabbing great food in the village. Also, the bedding was wonderful and the beds were very comfortable, really nice after a long day of exercise. The Waitsfield home is a perfect launching spot to enjoy the Mad River valley and is a special find. We would be thrilled to go back.
The Farmhouse was our home base for my daughter's wedding held at the nearby Skinner Barn. During our stay, the house was full with family and friends ranging in age from 2 through 90 and everyone was comfortably accommodated. We all enjoyed the house, Waitsfield, and the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend the house.
A group of us spent a wonderful summer week in this home. It was exactly as described and we loved the wide plank floors, large fireplace, and spacious living area. The house was very clean, the beds and linens comfortable, and the kitchen and bathroom well-stocked. We especially appreciated the chairs on the deck and the outdoor picnic table for enjoying meals, reading, and relaxing. The area is beautiful with so much to explore - from restaurants and country stores to swimming holes and waterfalls. We enjoyed the food at American Flatbread Restaurant, the Red Hen Baking Company in nearby Middlesex, and the root beer floats and maple ice cream at the Warren Store. The Bowl Mill Store in Granville offers locally made wooden bowls and cooking utensils, along with a collection of beautiful antique bowls. And Shelbourne Farms is an amazingly beautiful and historic place to visit. Nearby Sugarbush offered summer activities that included rental needs for mountain-biking, zip lining, and more. Waitsfield is centrally located so Burlington, Lake Champlain, Montpelier, and Waterbury are all within easy reach. But I must admit that just walking the roads near the house, exploring the three covered bridges that were within a few miles, and enjoying the fresh air and quiet of this farmhouse were the best activities of all!
We all had a wonderful time during our weekend stay at this farmhouse. 10 of us gathered to celebrate a wedding at the Skinner Barn which is just around the corner, so the location could not have been more perfect for what we needed. The house is also close to the center of Waitsfield so we were close to the grocery store, restaurants and other conveniences.
The house itself is spacious, with a dining table big enough for us to all gather around. The kitchen was stocked with basics for cooking and there was plenty of wood to keep a cozy fire going in the fireplace for the weekend. The house stayed warm and comfortable even though the weekend was chilly.
We would definitely recommend this house for anyone looking for a place to stay with a group. Especially if you are attending an event at the Skinner Barn.
The house is spacious, yet cozy with a simple, country decor. It's set on a beautiful piece of land with woods and farms nearby, and it is conveniently close enough to the nearby town. The house was clean and tidy. The landlords were very helpful, leaving toys and area guidebooks for our party, and they even had thoughtfully left us household items to use like laundry detergent and cooking spices. It has a great, well-stocked kitchen. Highly recommended!
One thing to know- there's no internet access (special arrangements can be made with the landlords- but do it ahead of time).
A fabulous place to stay!
Our home is situated on one of the most scenic dirt roads in Waitsfield with many walkers and joggers passing by to take advantage of the extraordinary views of all three ski resorts. We are less than 2 miles to Waitsfield Village with its unique shops and 15 minutes to either Sugarbush South or Sugarbush North. Please note that we choose to keep our home technology free - meaning no wi-fi - however, this can be an option if you're group would like to access the internet.
