LAKEFRONT COTTAGE, JACUZZI, PRIVATE

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, Pure Michigan lakeside experience this is it! We have stayed at Bass Relief for 4 years now, and it is wonderful. The cottage is adorable in that quaint traditional northern MI way, the lake is pristine, wildlife is abundant, and the juxtaposition of the location - remote and isolated while being within just minutes from Traverse City - is perfect. Sunsets are the best enjoyed either at the campfire or in the hot tub. A pair of nesting eagles is about 200 yards away and the loons provide a lovely symphony in the morning. The cottage is clean and thoughtfully appointed with everything you can possibly imagine from kitchen/bath supplies, wi-fi/cable TV access, and boats - kayaks, paddle boat, rowboats. The location affords easy accessibility to the Grand Traverse region for day trip exploration of all it has to offer. This is truly a hidden little gem!

This was our second stay at this cottage, and once again, it was such a perfect getaway with our kids. Truth be told, when we left last year, all we could think about was our next visit. This year did not disappoint.

This cottage has such a warm and friendly feel to it, and it is the perfect size for keeping an eye on youngsters (especially around a lake). Our kids had a blast splashing around the shallow water surrounding the dock and trying to catch minnows. Stores, restaurants, and other businesses are less than 10 minutes away, but the cottage is in a very quiet and peaceful place. It is a great balance of feeling away from it all, but not being completely isolated.

It is so easy to relax and really enjoy yourself here. We enjoyed getting out on the crystal clear water, getting a close look at water lilies from the kayaks, fishing, roasting and toasting things at the campfire, relaxing in the hammock by the water, and as always, the amazing sunsets.

The cottage has a real "up north" feel to it, and it is truly a cottage, so the quarters are close (though not uncomfortable at all).

This cabin was perfect for our family. My 4 year old boy spent almost every waking hour in the lake which is fine because it's very shallow for a long ways out. It was very close to Traverse City for the little time we spent away from the cabin. There's also a convenient Meijer and some other small stores close by.

The hot tub was nice and clean. The lake bottom by the dock is sandy and clear. The hammock is in a perfect spot for an evening of lounging. The grill and kitchen were nicely stocked and easy to use. There was plenty of pre-cut firewood for us and a couple nights were spent making s'mores and listening to the sound of the lake.

Since it's on such a shallow part of the lake, you rarely have any speed boats, tubers or skiers coming anywhere near the cabin making it quiet and peaceful not only at night but also during the day.

We used the kayaks, pedal boat and row boat. I was able to catch a couple nice bass right from the dock but on the night I took the row boat out, I caught my limit in keeper bass not too far from our dock and we had a great bass lunch the next day. And I'm certainly no professional fisherman.

I spent every night sitting on the end of the dock and looking out over the dark lake and up at the night sky full of brilliant stars.

Very peaceful, relaxing and accommodating. I would recommend this to anyone with young children or if you're just looking to get away from it all and take it easy. I actually gave my 4 year old "taking it easy" lessons while we were there. He's still getting the hang of it.

Great place. I hope we can go back.
