Grand Bahama Vacation Rental villa

These Villas are right on the beach, and what a beach it is. Its quiet, remote and safe. The owner is top drawer. Early on we commented on how hospitable he was and he said, ' I can't help it my mother raised me to be this way'. We found this to be the honest truth. Steve met us at the airport and drove us in our rental car to the Villas. when we arrived we had the most spectacular meal prepared without us even knowing. We were famished and it was dark on arrival. Steve took care of us. Our week was spectacular. Rent a car and explore the Island from one tip to the other. Just remember when you turn left stay to the left side...left to left..remember that. Stock up on food, walk the beach and if Steve says he'll take you out in his motor boat...go!! You'll see remote Island villages, virgin beaches and Ocean life that you can reach into the water and touch. Steve is a hard working guy and he won't miss a beat when it comes to your comfort. Thanks Steve for a wonderful stay.

Rental property exceeded the photos - was a great, clean place. Plan on renting a car or arrange transportation from Freeport - but in exchange you can relax in a safe local community and enjoy a wonderful beach, great snorkeling and accumulate authentic "fish" stories. I suggest you stock up on breakfast and lunch foods at the grocery before leaving Freeport and then enjoy the local cuisine for at least one meal/day. Many of the local ladies cook for vacationers and its well worth it. I regret I didn't have them prepare more meals for us. Our family really enjoyed the week.

I could not have chosen a friendlier and more beautiful spot for a week's vacation than Pelican Point and the Sandy Beach Resort. Nowhere in my vast travels have I encountered friendlier and more hospitable people. No matter what it is you need or want, everyone's interested in seeing that you're happy and satisfied. It's just amazing!!The cottages at Sandy Beach were built by Steve Laing, the owner, and are nicely done, well appointed, air conditioned and nearly new - a real treat after many of the places that I've been to. I'm a fly fisherman and found bonefish galore right in front of my cottage as well as on many nearby flats. Yes, these fish are wary, but they are catchable with my l largest approaching 9 lbs., although I saw several much larger specimens that eluded me. I had casts to permit as well, but did not hook up. The sand beach in front of the cottages is very nice, the water's quite calm and the swimming is super. The reef is just a short distance off shore and is populated with all sorts of colorful fish. You can kayak to a blue hole that is really cool and home for all manner of creatures. Did I mention the food at SAndy Beach? WOW! If you enjoy conch, fresh fish, lobster and stone crab you will be in heaven. There are local ladies who will gladly cook up incredible fare and deliver it to your cottage at very reasonable prices. I can't wait to get back to Sandy Beach for some true island hospitality, great fishing and fine food. Give this spot a try, you won't be disappointed.
