River's Whisper is GREAT

We just returned from a week at River's Whisper. It was myself, my wife, and my two sisters. This place is great, the pictures don't lie. If anything, they don't show how nice it really is.
I spent a lot of time in the river, fishing. The water was a little low, and warm, so the trout weren't there. I did catch plenty of smallmouth, and other panfish.
We rented kayaks & tubes from a place right up the road, and were able to go down the river & pull out right at the house. The rental place came & picked up the tubes for us.
Bird watching was a treat. We saw many species we don't get to see in Florida. Hummingbirds, goldfinches, bluebirds, robins, wild turkey... just a smorgasbord of wildlife. We also saw a whitetail deer.
It's so quiet you can't believe it. No road noise, no industrial sounds, no sirens. The perfect place to relax and get away from it all.
Hiking, biking, kayaking... you can do it all. Close enough to town to run in and get a bite to eat, or just stay home and enjoy the giant porch fronting the river. We took a couple of afternoons & drove up to the Nantahala forest for some hiking. It's not far, just 20 minutes and you're on the Appalachian trail.
The hot tub was wonderful after the long drive from central Florida. The master bedroom & bath are gorgeous. My sisters enjoyed each having their own bedroom (especially the lucky one who got to stay upstairs with her own balcony overlooking the river).
We had room for at least two more people, there was another bedroom we didn't need.
Everything was clean & well maintained. Franklin has interesting places to shop & there are some great places to eat nearby.
We will definitely be coming back next year.
