The cottage was clean and did look like the picture (unfortunately it is utterly lacking in charm-just functional) It, however, did not have a fully equipped kitchen. If you want to cook take pots and pans. There was one kettle and no griddle or corkscrew. The dishwasher did not work. The beds were covered in plastic mattress covers so they were uncomfortable and very hot to sleep on, even with a blanket and a lover sheet on. The biggest draw back was that the lover level, ground level, which contained the second bedroom and a room with a pingpong table had only one small window in the bedroom, none in the "gameroom" and it smelled of mildew-enough so that we did not use the lower floor. The renting agent while not answering my calls of complaint, did take over a dehumidifier (which needed to be emptied once or twice a day) and a room air cleaner. They did not work well. After five days the best that could be said was that the moldy smell did not make its way up the stairs any longer. My sister stayed at a cottage nearby that was much nicer and for the same price. Look around and only take this one if you must be there and all others are booked.
Owner's Response: In response to this renter's complaints, we did have a professional service come in and address the "smell" issue and it has been resolved. GUARANTEED! We do have plenty of pots & pans as well as a corkskrew! Most of them are new & are kept in the kitchen cabinets. Our mattresses are covered. It is done to protect the mattresses & the renter. Children do have accidents and spills do occur. It is much more sanitary to discard a liner than to address a soiled mattress. We have a very reliable rental agent & they have assured us that any concerns are addressed right away. We have furnished our home & supplied it with what we know is needed for all, including us, to enjoy! We had and will continue to provide Direct TV, a "Welcome Goody Bag" with area coupons and a Guide Book for the area. Unfortunately none of the "extra” niceties are ever included in reviews such as these! If you are interested in our cottage, please email/call for further info. We will provide you with a clean and nicely furnished cottage, in a wooded site for your enjoyment. Your will not be disappointed.
