Great house, great stay, some drawbacks...

Home was beautiful, well apportioned and clean. Loved the no smoking / no pets given family allergies and cooking was very easy with some of the provided spices / basic ingredients. Awesome. Only issue was the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom was not working.
Also, the house is very close to most attractions including Rushmore, more "touristy" Rapid City stuff like the Reptile Garden, Caves, etc., and national parks. This turned out to be a perfect location to stay for a family vacation.
Main drawbacks are:
1) This is not a private house... it's more of a duplex setup where the owners seem to move out of their house for your week, then live in and operate a business out of the other half. Strange that this is not mentioned in the listing. This meant that other people were coming and going at different hours (midnight one night) using the same driveway and third garage. It probably also means they'll be attentive if you have an issue - we didn't.
2) This also led to a significant (very significant) number of family photos, religious sayings, decor all over the house. I would say this is very different from the more "vanilla" expectation of a rental home. We had the feeling that we were staying in someone's home while they were away. Again, strange that this was not mentioned in the listing and also if we were not Christian I wonder how we would have felt about the extreme religious overtone of the home.
So, overall good, but not excellent given the above drawbacks.
