Unique, spacious and private property in commanding location with panoramic views southwest to the sea and island of Fuerteventura. A private drive leads to the villa set in 1/2 acre of mature gardens with a main heated swimming pool 13m x 7m, separate heated children's pool 2m diameter and a spacious barbecue area.

Accommodation comprises entrance hall with interior glazed garden, huge kitchen, separate breakfast room with terrace, utility room with patio, TV room, satellite TV, DVD & video, main double bedroom with en suite bathroom and patio, leading to main terrace, second twin bedroom and en suite bathroom with private terrace, third twin bedroom with en suite shower room and private terrace, dining room seating 10 with indoor barbecue area, large lounge with bar overlooking main terraces. Interior decor is traditional with custom made furniture and antiques. The villa has been recently refurbished and offers a high quality of accommodation in a private and individual setting.

The satellite TV system is set up to receive English, German and Spanish stations.

For infants of 3 years and under, a cot is provided free of charge.

WIFI is available inside the villa and details of how to connect can be found at the villa on arrival.

There are two televisions, one in the TV room receiving UK, German and Spanish channels and one in the lounge with a DVD player.

Why Julia chose Puerto del Carmen

The villa was built in 1979 by the present owners to a very high specification. The design was by a renowned designer who worked with Cesar Manrique on a number of projects on the island. The house reflects many features of the island architecture.

There are, effectively three bedroom suites with private terraces offering a quiet corner with a different view at any time of the day. The furnishings in the villa were custom made in the local style of a very high quality and there are antique pieces.

There have been several refurbishments over the years, the latest in November 2011.

Although the villa is not specifically fitted for the disabled client, it was built for ease of access, all on one level and with wider doorways. It has proven to be user friendly for persons of restricted mobility.

We stayed with a group of friends in the villa and had a great holliday.

The description was accurate, is was even more beautiful than the pictures promised.

The rooms were big, the kitchen nice and with enough plates, cups glasses etc.

Even toiletpaper, olive oil, coffee and tea was present.

We found a bottle of Cava as a welcome present.

We didn't have very good weather, so spend little time in the garden and at the pool.

One night we tried the indoor bbq. Not a good idea, there was a lot of smoke in the room. But Julia promised to fix it, so the people after us will not have that problem.

Eveything was very clean and well maintained.

We had diner at the nearby restaurant El Toro several times and that was also very good.

Het was Grandioos!

Ondanks de foto's en tekst van deze site veelbelovend waren overtrof de villa al onze verwachtingen. Alles is ruimer dan de foto's doen verwachten. We verbleven in de villa met 6 volwassenen en 1 kind van anderhalf jaar oud. De villa voelt knus aan en toch heeft iedereen genoeg privé ruimte. We hebben volop genoten van het terras met de dinertafel met het prachtige uitzicht en natuurlijk van het zwembad. Ook de BBQ hoek in de prachtige bloementuin is zeker de moeite waard om te gebruiken. In de villa is helaas geen WIFI aanwezig. Dit is wel een verbeterpuntje.

De ligging van de villa is zeer fraai. De villa ligt op de rand van het dorp Puerto del Carmen en biedt daarom erg veel privé. Het strand, de haven en de restaurantjes zijn op ongeveer 15 minuten loopafstand. Dit is bergafwaarts wel te doen maar terug omhoog erg pittig. Een taxi voor nog geen 3 euro per rit is een beter idee. Op 5 minuten afstand (auto) ligt een nieuwe, grote, Spar supermarkt. Het eiland, Timanfaya NP en het dorp Playa Blanca zijn de moeite waard om te bezoeken. Daarom is het huren van een auto aan te raden.

Tot slot is aanspreekpunt Susanna een super lieve vrouw die als je haar belt binnen 5 minuten voor de deur staat om je probleem op te lossen.

Kortom, wij hebben een fantastische vakantie gehad waarbij de 2 weken zijn omgevlogen.

Fantastic Villa!

The second time I've been there with friends. And again, just like last year it was clean, luxurious, safe and quiet. Great e-mail contact with the owners Julia & Christopher. As always helpful anytime Georgina and Simon - always answered the phone and gave advice, or coming to the villia. Great, heated and covered up for the night a large swimming pool, beautiful garden, plenty of space for adults and children. Car needed, but you can go on foot to the charming nearby town Puerto del Carmen. For sure I'll visit the Volcanic Island and friendly house "La Cancela Verde" again. Michal with friends

Fantastic villa

We spent 11 nights at the villa and were very impressed. The villa is large and a great feature is that each bedroom has its own patio area so you can find a sunny spot at any time of day. The villa was clean and as described. Outdoor bbq in particular was fab as had its own dining area. The gardens are full of flowers and is an indoor garden as well. Pool was warm and a good size. villa was decorated to a high standard and all the rooms were a good size including all the ensuites. You can walk into town or to the beach quite easily although is a steep hill back. Was ok for us with teenage kids. view from the pool area is outstanding. Is a supermarket just 5 mins by car or a smaller one you can walk to down the hill. Only downside was no free wifi but are many options near by in bars and restaurants. Our favourite local restaurant was Mario's - italian with extensive menu, again is a walk down the hill but well worth it! We tried El toro which is right by the villa, this is more upmarket and food was mixed, some very good some ok. Would definitely recommend this villa, and we would book again if we get the chance to go back to Lanzarote.

Just great!!! :D

La Cancela Verde is just great!!! It's very spacious and it's very private.

I stayed there with my parents and brother, his girlfriend and their child (1,5 yrs old). There are 3 bedrooms, so we all had your own private place to go to. Very relaxed. And also for the baby it's great so she had a place to sleep in the afternoon and isn't disturbed. The view is great and there's also a lot of space outside. The pool is great too, very nice! Twice a week it's been taken care of by the pool guy, so it stays clean. Georgina and Simon are also very nice people and if there's anything you need, they'll help you out. We had a lot of email contact with Julia before out trip and she's also very helpful and nice.

So I can only say: If you go to Lanzarote, this is the place to be!!! :D

Superb!

In every aspect the house is friendly and functional. Good contakt with the owner Chistopher and very helpful Goergina and Simon.Great panoramic see and mountain view, huge and clean pool. Interesting architecture outside and inside the house. Huge kitchen, two dinning romms!. Comfortable, big bedrooms with bathrooms. Quiet and safe. Everything near by. And additionally fabulous garden, which on such a volcanic island makes even bigger impression. We will return for sure. We recommend cordially.

The villa is easily reached by the main trunk road from the airport - a journey of 20 minutes by car. The villa is in a rural location on the outskirts of the old village of Puerto del Carmen, mid-way along the southern coast of Lanzarote . Puerto del Carmen, the most established tourist centre on the island, is five minutes journey by car where can be found shops, restaurants and some of the main beaches on the island. The attractive yacht marina development of Puerto Calero is five minutes' drive to the west. The villa is located on a private development of three individual villas, all separated by substantial gardens and a traditional house nearby. The villa is in an elevated position, overlooking untended farmland commanding panoramic views of the sea, the islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura to the south-west and the mountains of Femes to the West. The south-westerly aspect offers clients sunshine from dawn to dusk on the ample terraces and armchair views of the splendid scenery.

From the bathroom, sliding doors lead to a small walled garden. The bathroom is light and bright and tastefully fitted. The ensuite bathroom attached to the twin bedroom leading off the TV room has a full length bath with shower, bidet, toilet and basin set into a cupboard unit with a large mirror.   • The main bedroom, which has direct access to a covered terrace overlooking the main pool, has sliding screen doors to provide ventillation, glazed doors and shutters and a ceiling fan. The bed is an extra large double. The windows overlook the main pool and the view over the main terrace to the sea. There is ample wardrobe space. Tastefully furnished with items of local pottery as decoration. Access is on one level. The twin bedroom leading from the TV room has a private, covered terrace facing west to the mountains of Femes. Set within a small walled garden the terrace offers privacy and quiet and captures the setting sun as it dips below the mountain ridge. Access is by way of two steps from the TV lounge. The third twin bedroom is very spacious and has a small private terrace facing east to capture the morning sunshine. Access is on one level. All the bedrooms have shutters and screened windows for extra ventilation.

The villa was designed for ease of access and is wheelchair friendly. Each bedroom has its own private terrace and the villa offers plenty of quiet corners making it ideal for both families and groups of friends. The main pool is kidney shaped, 13 metres long and 7 metres wide with classical stepped entry from an astro turf area. The shallow end is 1.2 m deep and the deep end 1.60m deep. The childrens' pool is circular, 2m in diameter and 0.75m deep with stepped entry. Both pools are electrically heated from November to March inclusive and heated at other times by request at an extra payment. There is a giant marble chess board inset into the terrace. Pergolas surround the house offering shade and guests can dine on the main terrace, in the barbeque area, on the breakfast terrace or in the dining room which also has a built in barbeque area. The spacious accommodation offers a high quality of comfort and convenience in a setting which combines modern and traditional styles of design
