Maison Mer is a beautifully maintained vacation home located on a 1 acre lot with a beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico. The private pool is larger than average and will allow you plenty of privacy and fun with a volleyball net and plenty of chairs for sunbathing. From the pool it is a short walk down a maintained sandy path to the beach!!!

Maison Mer has five bedrooms. Two of these are true masters with king size beds and walk in showers with double shower heads and jacuzzi tubs. Dual sinks complete the marble baths to accommodate everyone's needs.

There are also two bedrooms with queen sized beds and attached baths. The fifth bedroom is a twin trundle bed set with access to the fifth bathroom.

The home is an inverted plan with Kitchen and Living areas upstairs to enjoy the gulf views. You will find the kitchen well stocked with all the amenities you'll find at home. There is a beautiful bar area with cooking top and silestone counter tops and barstools for eating or chatting.

The dining table seats 10. There is also a huge, screened porch the entire width of the house on the back with access to the kitchen, den, and master bedroom. You'll find an alternative dining area there with a teak table which also seats 10. Plenty of room for everyone.

The downstairs area has a second large den with TV, VCR, DVD, video library, video game player, and game library. You'll also find a full deck on the lower level with a roomy hammock to enjoy the gulf breezes and is accessible from the den, master bedroom, and queen bedroom.

The St. George Plantation is a private gated community including two tennis courts, a community pool, a bike path, a private air strip and incredible fishing at 'The Cut'.

Maison Mer was a fabulous, relaxing vacation!!

We blended two families, so the two master suites (on different floors) worked out perfectly. Nice features included both screened and unscreened large porches. One of the men claimed the hammock! The kitchen was well-stocked with pots & pans, utensils, glassware, appliances, etc. Covered parking was plentiful. Creme de la creme was the pool. It was large, clean, and had a roomy lounging area. The landscaping was lush, feeling like our own little oasis. We loved the pool. Just a few minutes down a sandy path was the beach. Fun, fun time. (We rented bikes for the week. Highly recommended. Also take the time to visit the state park.)

What a great memory making vacation!

We have stayed more than once at this beautiful home. It has enough room for our children and grandchildren to join us for a wonderful family holiday. The bedrooms each have a dedicated or in-suite bathroom for the privacy that enhances the overall vacation experience. The setting is magnificent...the beautiful St. George Island in its natural state with the white sand beach of the Gulf of Mexico mere steps away through the private swimming pool. The walking and biking path is as fun or as strenuous as you wish to make it. Top notch tennis just a block away. Shelling...sand sculpturing...wading in the bay waters...bird watching...it is all available here. Fresh seafood vendors are on the island daily. If you want to make family memories, this is the target place.

Home away from home....with a pool and beach

This is a fabulous home with all the amenities. It is obviously well cared for. The two master bedrooms are awesome, the kitchen and family room areas are great for a fun evening dinner, the back screened porch and front porch are awesome relax areas. The downstairs family room is perfect or the kids. The pool and beach meet everyone's desire for a beach trip. I hope to go back many times in the future.

A Beautiful Home

I believe this is the 5th year I've rented Maison Mer for our family vacation. We love it!!! Lots of clean, comfortable living space; a fantastic screened deck on the top floor where the family gathers in the evening; a sparkling, relaxing pool for during the day; to-die-for bathrooms in both masters! The proximity to the beach makes it an easy trek to the sand whether you plan it or make it a spur-of-the-moment highlight.The pool is my favorite spot to spend the entire day. The newly relocated market offers even more variety and services than the previous store although I would still recommend bringing most of your food with you if you are travelling with a large group like we do. I will almost certainly rent Maison Mer again as it's my favorite spot in the whole world!
