Moonshadow:
With its dramatic oceanfront, offers you spectacular vistas of brilliant turquoise seas from several inviting vantage points. From poolside, see the ocean meeting the white sands of Sapodilla Bay as you watch luxury sailboats and yachts approach a peaceful anchorage while distant commercial ships make their way to the harbor at South Dock. Or relax in the loft on the other side of the house and see pale turquoise waters gently lapping the white sandy beach at nearby Taylor Bay, with the vivid colorful waters of Chalk Sound visible in the distance. Enjoy great views from any of the open decks, covered decks, in the hammock, or on the screened porch while having cocktails or a memorable meal.
Moonshadow benefits from an almost constant trade wind coming off the sea that provides almost perfect conditions, but ceiling fans are in every room if you need them. If you wish to have air conditioning in the bedrooms, it can be made available at a nominal cost and metered separately.
A few things to know:
Airlines - American Airlines has three daily flights between Providenciales and Miami. Delta Airlines flies daily between Providenciales and Atlanta. TWA flies between New York/JFK and Providenciales daily. There are also weekly charter flights from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia and Toronto.
Food & Drink - Upon your arrival, there will likely be a few food staples (and liquor) in the cabinets and fridge. Please help yourself to anything you wish, and upon your departure leave what you wish. There are two large supermarkets and several grocery stores on the island. The nearest supermarket is Inland Pride open until 8:00 pm (closed Sunday), located in Town Centre Mall near the Scotia Bank. Several miles down the road on the Leeward Highway is a large IGA Supermarket, open until 9:00 pm and until 6:00 pm on Sundays. Several liquor stores are on the island, the largest being Caribe West located at the first major intersection after you leave home.
Water - Water is scarce, please help us conserve! Water is a combination of rainwater caught on the roof plus desalinated water delivered weekly. There should be no problem in drinking the water; however, various bottled waters are available at the grocery and liquor stores.
Washer/Dryer - The villa has a washer and dryer that you are welcome to use.
Power - Power rates are very high. Please, please don't leave lights and fans on unnecessarily. It is not uncommon for the power to go off temporarily. The power current is the same as in the USA.
Mosquitoes - Since the villa is located by the sea, you will find fewer mosquitoes here than anywhere else, and most of the time no mosquitoes at all! Typically, mosquitoes will come a couple of weeks after a heavy rainfall and their feeding time is mostly at sunrise and just after sunset.
Warning - A sudden rain shower can come up without warning. Please make sure that anytime you leave the villa, close all the doors and windows.
