Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park with its miles of hiking trails, Rockefeller Carriage Roads for hiking and biking and famed Maine Light Houses are less than a 45-minute drive away and many local coastal towns abound for day tripping, including on Blue Hill Peninsula – Castine (and Cape Rosier), Brooklin, Brooksville (and Holbrook Island Bird Sanctuary), Stonington and Isle au Haut/Acadia National Park (Ferry from Stonington).
