Light-filled home in Capitol Hill's vibrant and safe Eastern Market neighborhood -- rated one of America's 10 most walkable communities!

Built in 2003, we have everything you need to enjoy your visit to DC. Ideal for a couple or family, with Aerobeds available upon request. We take care of the details so you don't feel nickel-dimed -- and can enjoy a hassle-free stay.

Best of all, our central location means no fighting Washington’s traffic snarls, or paying top dollar for parking -- or parking tickets! Nearby: everything you'd want to see in DC:

The US Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress are a 10-minute stroll away.

Head 4 blocks north, through our neighborhood of historic rowhouses, to get to Metro's Eastern Market station, on the direct route to top destinations -- the Smithsonian, the White House, the Washington Convention Center, the new American Indian museum, the FDR and Jefferson Memorials, Ford's Theatre, the International Spy Museum and more are a 10-minute ride away. Or stay on the subway for a bit longer to get to the National Zoo, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Kennedy Center.

To our east is Barracks Row, home to the President's Own (Marine Corps Band) and the Marine Commandant, and a restaurant row for nightlife. And to our south are the Washington Nationals' new stadium, the Navy Yard, and the new Transportation Department HQ.

On the way back home, stop at Eastern Market's produce, meat, dairy and flower stalls -- or pop into one of Barracks Row's cafes, bars or restaurants. Several grocery/drug/liquor stores are within walking/driving distance.

Owners are long-time DC residents and neighbors who are happy to answer questions and share tips for visitors.

Home in Historic Washington DC

  • 4 of 5
We enjoyed our week's stay in this fabulous neighbourhood. The flat was ideally located in the Eastern Market area, close to grocery stores, amenities and lots of great restaurants (such as the fun and trendy Ted's Bulletin (8th Street), Matchbox (8th Street) and Montmatre (7th Street) - all great food and service at affordable prices). The flat is on the ground floor of a town home, so when the tenants above are home, you can hear them walk across the floorboards. The flat supplied everything you could ever need to set up house and the king bed was unbelievably comfortable. Deborah and David were very welcoming and accommodating and live close by if you need them. All the major sights - Capitol Building, Library of Congress, White House, Smithsonian museums, etc. are about a 20 minute walk away or a 5 minute walk to the Eastern Market metro and a 5 minute subway ride. The neighbourhood of the flat is clean, safe and offers a city feel while maintaining a cool neighbourhood perception. The highway is close by for those with cars (and a bit loud at night), but very convenient. We enjoyed our stay in the flat and in Washington, DC immensely.

First time for business

  • 5 of 5
This is the first time I have used a "vacation rental" for business. It was PERFECT.

It saved me time and the company money. With the free parking and insanely convenient location it will be at the top of my list whenever I'm working in that part of D.C.

Here are a list of the things that stand out:
1) Great customer service from Deborah
2) Location, Location, Location! 2 blocks from the historic 8th and I USMC barracks it is in an area that is undergoing gentrification so there are tons of awesome restaurants and shops within a 5 minute walk. Saves money on taxi's, car's, gas, and parking.
3) The free, reserved parking spot steps from the door. That alone is worth the price of admission. Hotels usually charge between $25-$65 per day!!!!
4) Commuting contra-flow morning and evening. While everyone else was fighting their way into D.C., I was taking an approx. 10 minute (leisurely and enjoyable) drive to work, down at JBAB.
5) Even at 4 P.M. on a Friday afternoon it took me less than 15 minutes to get to Reagan National.

If you are travelling to the D.C. area, whether for work or pleasure, put this at the top of your list.

Mike

Wonderful Flat/Amazing Location

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I recently spent 10 nights at this wonderful flat. While the living area/kitchen are small, the bedroom is very spacious. You will not find a more centrally located place in DC. We were just a 5 minute walk from more restaurants than we could sample during our stay; a 10 minute walk from Eastern Market and the metro; and two block from the Marine Corps Barracks and their Friday night performances. We will certainly stay here when we return to the area.

A great experience

  • 5 of 5
My friend and I had a lovely stay here. Great location for getting to Metro and easy access to food. Particularly appreciated the organic grocery store. Deborah was very thoughtful in the info she provided in advance of our trip and very responsive to texting. The apt. was comfortable and clean. We didn't do much cooking but there were a lot of dishes, pots & pans, etc. so it would be easy to "eat in." On 8th St. we had very good meals at Lavagna and Medium Rare. If you visit the National Portrait Gallery and like salad, try Chop T nearby. A little hectic but a tasty option, especially if your time is limited. We also discovered that the bakery on the corner of 8th & G has gluten free options which was very helpful to us. We had a great time in DC altho too much to see and too little time. I would definitely recommend this rental to others and would stay here again. BTW, we came and went to BWI via MARC and Metro - pretty easy!

Eastern Market - Washington, DC, Apartment

  • 5 of 5
Eastern Market is great part of the city to stay in. Lots of historic buildings, restaurants and neighborhood shops. This unit is an easy walk to the Metro station and from there, you can go anywhere in DC. Taking the Metro saved us a couple of hundred dollars in transportation costs over the course of our week.

The apartment is clean, cozy and secure with all the amenities of home. We enjoyed our time there and have, already, recommended this property to others.
