Capitol Hill -- near Eastern Market. The Navy Yard, US Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress and new Nationals stadium are a short stroll away. Metro's blue/orange line is even closer -- and a direct link to the Smithsonian, the White House, the Washington Convention Center, the new American Indian museum, the FDR and Jefferson Memorials, Ford's Theatre, the International Spy Museum and more.

On the way back home, stop at Eastern Market's farmers' stalls, relax at Barracks Row's cafes, bars or restaurants, or run errands at several nearby grocery/drug/liquor stores -- all within walking/driving distance.

Quiet Homey Visit

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Deborah's apartment. It was very quiet. We never heard a sound from any of the neighbors. The apartment was very clean, well maintained and easy to live in. It's a small apartment, so it's mainly comfortable for 2 people.

We enjoyed the neighborhood eateries and the organic grocery store. The Sweet Lobby was a great find for cupcake lovers! The free offstreet parking was an added bonus! No worries about finding a parking space.

We would definitely consider staying here again during our next visit to DC. I highly recommend this apartment.

Far exceeded our expectations in every way!

Deborah was very helpful from the start. She cheerfully answered many questions for us regarding transportation and other details. Upon arrival we found the house to be very clean, tastefully decorated and well stocked with everything we could possibly need (except food of course). There were even some SmartTrip Metro cards for us to use! There's a large flat screen TV with Dish Network programming in the livingroom. There's even a smaller flat screen w/ Dish in the master bedroom. With 2.5 bathrooms, there was never any waiting for a shower... the kids loved having their own private bath. The street is quiet and safe... there's even a private parking spot for your car directly behind the house in a private lot. The location is the perfect home base for sightseeing in DC. We opted against using the Metro and instead drove our car to Union Station each day ($22 per day to park in the garage) and caught the "Old Town Trolley" tour bus (a great tour - highly recommend!). I can't say enough about Deborah's generosity and attention to detail. You will not be disappointed with this rental! Thanks again Deborah!

Family Holiday DC Trip

The apartment was great for our holiday stay in DC. The metro was an easy walk (three blocks?), and coffee shops were on the way. The main bedroom was spacious, the kitchen was great for quick breakfasts before our day of sight-seeing. The street was very quiet (week of Christmas) and we felt very safe. There were guide books for visitors and "lanyards" to hold your metro cards, which really were convenient. The owners were wonderful and responsive. It was very clean and we felt at home within our first day stay. My only suggestion is to perhaps remove some of the furniture in the main living area as it felt cramped with two futon/sofas in such a small space. Also, if you have teenagers of different genders, the sleeping arrangements might not work. Our 13 and 11 year old son and daughter shared a futon and it was not a big deal. However, for older teens that might not fly. Great price, location and space. Thank you so much.

Great Place!

We arrived in DC October 26 to a comfy, cozy and cool apartment. The place was well equipped with pots and pans, nice dishes and wine glasses. I made a couple of nice dinners while I was there, there's even a beautiful rosemary plant in the front yard I used to cook a roasted chicken that I got at Eastern Market, great place to get groceries and in walking distance, everything's in walking distance, a great neighborhood.
Hurricane Sandy arrived while we there. What could have turned into a fiasco with rotten weather and flight cancellations was really quite pleasant in this place. The day the hurricane hit, the owner,Deborah dropped candles and fresh fruit on our doorstep.
I can't say enough about all the positives in this place, comfy beds, washer and dryer, nice kitchen set up and wonderful owners. When in DC next time I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.
