Located just 30 minutes away from beautiful and historic downtown Charleston and 15 minutes from Edisto Beach, you will find Toogoodoo Bluff, a private family compound comprised of a 200 year-old plantation house, log cabin and recreation cottage. For the first time ever, our family is opening the doors of Toogoodoo Bluff and welcoming you.
Our property is nestled on a high bluff overlooking the beautiful Toogoodoo River and wide open marshes. A perfect oasis for families with artists, writers, thinkers and outdoorsmen. For years our family has enjoyed the peacefulness Toogoodoo offers whether fishing off the dock with our kids or watching the sunset from the rocking chairs. This stunning historic retreat with modern amenities is waiting for you and your family. It is also a perfect getaway for couples.

I am a lifelong Carolinea boy, having grown up in NC and then living in SC since 1981.
Keith purchased this farmhouse in 2005
Toogoodoo Bluff is so unique and special. It offers an authenic Lowcountry experience and not just another beach week. The structures are all very historic and meticuously renovated. The high bluff overlooking the river and marshes are therapeutic. Toogoodoo Bluff is not a place, it is an experience.
As previously stated, Toogoodoo Bluff is not just another week at the beach even though we are only a short drive to Edisto Beach. It allows for groups to be together without having to be together in a single structure.
I held my wedding here this September and I have to say it was incredible. The old classic charm to this place made my day absolutely perfect! I could not have asked for a better wedding location! Most of my wedding party was able to stay on location with us so there was no running around. It was so peaceful and beautiful overlooking the marshes.
Keith was a pleasure to work with. His son initially gave us the tour and explained the history of the home. You feel like you have gone back into time while visiting. I'm sure we will visit again, possibly for a wedding anniversary celebration one day!
We held our daughter's wedding at Toogoodoo Bluff at the end of September 2014. We had a fabulous time. She wanted a wedding with low country feel but not necessarily a "huge" plantation. She also wanted to be able to spend the entire weekend at her venue with the wedding party relaxing, spending the time with friends and family and making memories to last a lifetime. She wanted a place steeped in history, beauty and serenity. We found everything we desired when we found Toogoodoo Bluff.
The wedding of her dreams took place and we can't say enough about how beautiful and serene everything was. God truly blessed us with a beautiful day.
I am so thankful to Keith, the owner, and for finding such an exquisite place for my daughter to fulfill the wedding of her dreams.
I hope to come back some day and have a family reunion here.
Thanks again Keith and Toogoodoo Bluff.
Spent the last week at this amazing property! We had a great family reunion and there is so much space between the houses, you never felt like you were intruding on anyone's space. Would highly recommend this property and Keith, the owner, is very accommodating! It was clean and well maintained. We look forward to renting it again, soon.
Speaking as the mother of the bride, it is almost impossible to explain how wonderful Toogoodoo Bluff is. There is something so warm and welcoming about all the houses and the property that I can't imagine anyone not having a great time. ( Actually that is probably southern charm!) We had a small rehearsal party, wedding and even a small brunch the morning after the wedding on the grounds. There was a spot for everything with spectacular views of the river. The dock is a great place to chill and watch the sunset. The residences are very, very comfortable with antiques as well as some wonderful quirky pieces. We'll definitely be back!
Our daughter got married on November 9 and we needed a place for us to stay with relatives from NC and Florida. The compound was perfect! The setting is beautiful and each house has it's own charm. All of the relatives who stayed were as impressed as we were. It was close to the wedding venue - Wide Awake Park - which cut down on traveling time for decorating and clean up. We are already talking about another trip (hopefully in the near future). Thanks for making a special weekend even more special by sharing this wonderful property with us!
We initially reserved Toogoodoo Bluff for ourselves and out of town guests simply because the location was convenient for a wedding we were having nearby. This property exceeded our expectations and our out of town guests absolutely loved it. The Toogoodoo River itself is beautiful and the marsh views from this property are outstanding. The rustic charms and unique low country feel of the main home and cabins were perfect! We ended up taking many of our wedding photos at the property because it provided so many perfect settings. Keith (the owner) is very easy to work with even as we changed dates around at the last minute. We will most certainly look for an excuse to stay here again in the near future.
