Charlevoix, Michigan:
Charlevoix is at the Heart of the Michigan 'Gold Coast,' with its breathtaking new (2008) downtown waterfront park and yacht basin, one of the finest natural harbors on the Great Lakes. Nestled in wooded dunes, the region offers memorable day trips ranging from the Leelenau Wine Country to Mackinac Island. Or, leave your car in the carport for the week and shop &/or walk to fine dining and galleries downtown or past historic summer homes to beaches on both Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. The interactive fountain and the live trout stream in East Park-downtown are great activites for all ages.
Michigan Golf Coast:
The Charlevoix Area is at the heart of Michigan's 'Golf Coast.' Belvedere, Dunmaglas, Charlevoix Country Club, and Antrim Dells are all within 15 minutes. Multiple courses at A-Ga-MIng at Torch Lake and Boyne Mountain, along with the Golf Magazine Silver Medal courses at Bay Harbor and Shanty Creek are all with a half-hour drive. In mid-summer, Mother Nature offers nearly 18 hours of daylight, and Charlevoix Downtown offers non-golfing spouses easy access to the shopping, dining and beaches of Charlevoix right out the front door.
Activities:
Activities: Summer activities are related to the close proximity of the newly re-built East Park on Round Lake Harbor- Downtown, only a short walk away. Biking in the neighborhood is an everyday activity, however, the long Charlevoix to Petosky bike trail starts downtown and runs 14 miles along Lake Michigan over wetlands and forests. Lake Michigan Beach is a block away with swings, pavilion, volleyball and almost a mile of sandy beach to walk. Ferry Beach and Depot Beach on Lake Charlevoix are a short drive away. Fishermans Island State Park is a 5 minute drive that gives you woods and beach for viewing, picnicking or hiking.
