Lake Wallenpaupack has a unique history. It is the largest man-made lake in Pennsylvania (13.5 miles long with 52 miles of shoreline) and was completed in 1926. Prior to that, the vast lake was merely a small stream that the Leni-Lanape Indians had named 'Wallenpaupack.' This name means 'the stream of swift and slow water.' The Lake Wallenpaupack area offers many activities on the water and off. Close to interstate, restaurants, boat rentals, hiking trails, swimming, fishing, golf, & more. Ledgedale Recreation area, with public boat launch is right next door.

The home was very comfortable for two families of four and very well-equipped for cooking (inside and out), entertaining, and just plain relaxing. We enjoyed the privacy, wildlife, gameroom, patio and firepit, and lake all week long. Perfect for kayaking, canoeing, or pontoon boat. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated. Very highly recommended!

Great Birthday weekend

For my wife's birthday, we travelled to the Poconos to view the changing leaves and other sights. When we arrived at the house, the lights and heat were on, as well as a large assortment of restaurant menus and "things to do" flyers. This was perfect for getting us started on our adventure.

The house is beautiful, furnished just enough to be "Homey" and comfortable. After a full day of sightseeing, it was great to be able to return and wind down. We stayed for 4 days and enjoyed every minute. The game room is a great place to "crash". There was just me and the wife (we never even went upstairs), but this house would be great for a large family or group. You know, you pick a house off of a website and hope for the best -- in this case, I think that's exactly what we got!

Perfect Getaway

The house was absolutely perfect. Beautiful and very very comfortable. We had 9 people with us at one point and we all had plenty of space to relax and sleep comfortably. It was a perfect house to come together with family, laugh and create a memorable time. The kitchen and dining area were perfect to bring everyone together for big, fun meals. We skied quite a bit so we didn't get to do much local sight seeing. I'd love to go back in the summer and take advantage of the lake. We highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a very nice get away place to relax.

Surely the Classiest Country House in Pennsylvania

Too many country vacation homes are over-stuffed with kitschy furnishings and knick-knacks. This one, by contrast, is superbly furnished in a spare, elegant style appropriate to the house and its woodland setting. The building is basically an A-frame on steroids with lots and lots of room for a family-sized gathering, including a classic gameroom in the basement. It is also perfect for a city couple looking for room to stretch out and relax. So if you want a taste of unhurried country life but don't want to give up creature comforts to get it, this rental is highly recommended.

Just spent a long weekend at this home and had a great time. The house is beautiful and there were plenty of things to do.My family can't wait to go back.Very highly recommend.
