The actual ocean beach is a short walk of about a 1/4 mile and yes it's FREE and does not requires passes or beach tags. Also, it should be noted that in 2012 the OCMD beach made the top 10 list (#6) of the cleanest water in the nation (Jersey beaches didn't even make the list).
If visiting the ocean; I suggest after crossing coastal hwy at 67th you walk south one block and enter beach off 66th street for it's way less crowded at this location. Also if you don't have a beach wheelie; you can get one cheap at Super Fresh bay side around 90th street for about $25; it will sure make toting your gear to the beach much easier!

No. But we can give you the number to our cleaning service and a special cleaning schedule can be arranged for an additional expense.
Where is the nearest market to pickup supplies?
Right outside the condo is the Island market located under the clock tower but their prices may seem high; we recommend walking over to the 64th street market which will have everything you need at a reasonable price. Of course there is always the Super Fresh market at 94th street bay side - just a few minute drive.
Where is the best place to park when visiting the boardwalk?
Don't weave in and out of all the side streets! That's way too stressful! The best and easiest way to visit the boardwalk is to take costal highway all the way to the end, say LEFT and just before it LOOP around you can turn RIGHT and swing into the OC municipal parking lot; You'll park at the end of the boardwalk and will not have to fight for a parking spot!
How many TVs do you have?
There are a total of 3 TVs in the condo; a plasma TV in the living room with a DVD player; an LCD TV in the master bedroom with a DVD player; and a small an LED TV in the 2nd adult bedroom. The owner’s of the condo have two lovely little boys age 3 and 5. We fell in love with Sunset Island since it is so family oriented and our kids just have a blast!
Dennis Murphy purchased this condo in 2008
We wanted something easy for us since we have two little boys. We found Sunset Island perfect! Our little ones can play and have fun on the Island between the interactive fountain; swimming; playing in the sand on the bay beach; crabbing; fishing; ect; and when nap time hits, it's just a 1 minute walk back to the condo to get the kids in bed. Having little kids we needed a vacation spot that actually gave us a vacation!
We like the fact that we have baby proofed the entire condo; all of the kitchen drawers have latches; ect; so when we bring the kids in we don’t have to worry about stuff getting pulled out of the cabinets. Also, we have all it kid and baby friendly; it includes a baby crib; baby tub; booster seat; pack-n-play; and potty - and if you don't need these items, they store easy in the kids room closet out of site and out of the way.
Finally, there is plenty to do on the Island to keep the kids entertained all day; or it’s just a quick walk to the ocean. We also like going to North Side Park bay side 120th street; they have such an amazing large free kids play ground. And finally, we often visit the De Lazy Lizard at 1st and Bay, since they offer a huge free play area for the kids and they have reasonable food prices. And not to forget the kids love the Dough Roller Pizza! They are located just a block or two from the Island.
