Bald Head Island Vacation Rental condo

First and foremost, this was clearly the best deal on Bald Head Island. I don't think you could find a rental more reasonably priced. Granted, it's not a large beach house on the water, but it's a great place to stay. The beach was a short drive away, and the alligator was right around the corner. The unit was very clean. Super clean. The furniture was a little outdated, but the kitchen had new modern appliances, with a fridge, oven and microwave. It was also fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. and anything you needed.
There were two balconies off each of the bedrooms, which chairs. They would've been great, but BHI has quite the insect population. This was no reflection on the cleanliness or upkeep of the rental, but be aware that sitting on the back deck at night was difficult if you didn't want to get bug bites. Also, there are LOTS of spiders everywhere, and webs. Again, this had nothing to do with the rental or property (they even pressure washed the outside while we there, but the spiders came back) but had everything to do with the natural area of the rental and BHI itself. I only mention it because renters should be prepared and expect it .
The grill area was not very convenient to use so we didn't. THe pool wasn't really working when we got there, but I think it was fixed by the time we left.
The AC in the unit worked very well - really well, which was great.
The bathrooms were modern and basic, and suited our needs just fine. The linens weren't the best quality (lower thread count) but it wasn't a real issue because everything was very clean, which to me is much more important. The mattress wasn't the most comfortable, but it was a king size, and that was great.
The golf cart worked fine, charged well enough, and was dependable. The horn, however, wouldn't work, but it wasn't really a problem. The garage had chairs, umbrellas, bikes, fishing poles, and anything you needed.
Bottom line - this rental is a FANTASTIC deal. I was in several other rentals on the island, which may have more "flair" but they were easily five times the price, and clearly not worth it. This place was well worth the cost, and I received my deposit back super quickly. I only mention my concerns of the island itself so travelers are aware of what to expect. I was 100% pleased with the room, the description, and the entire process with renting it. It was really a great deal and a bargain! I would recommend this property to anyone heading to BHI.
