Location & Setting:
Our treasured family cottage is located in the most unique and private setting. Situated at the end of a private lane ensures that there are no cars or people walking by. The three level lot has a variety of mature trees including birch, oak, pine, cedar and maple, one of which rises majestically up through our elevated sun deck.
Across river is the natural and totally undisturbed Muskoka shoreline. It has been left in it's original state reflecting the beauty that would have been enjoyed by early trappers and native bands.
Sunsets may be enjoyed as the sun sets over a bay in the river just a short distance west from the private dock. Another place from which to view the river and sunsets is the screened in Muskoka room which over hangs the water in the boat house.
Facilities & Features:
The main cottage is totally insulated and winterized with a large wood stove and supplied firewood as well as a propane free standing stove in the kitchen. A recent renovation has been completed and provides a large kitchen with glowing pine wallls and ceiling. The ceiling has two skylights. The kitchen has new cupboards, kitchen sink and counter top along with a wood laminate floor.
The bedrooms have been completed with pine ceiling and walls plus wood laminate floors and new windows.
The finished boathouse provides the opportunity for some physical separation of your group. A great place to slip off to for reading, mid day naps or to turn in early so that you can get that early start for fishing for pickeral, bass and pike from the beautiful Severn River.
General area & activities:
The cottage is located close to Orillia and Gravenhurst. Both communities provide a multitude of cultural, shopping and sight seeing attractions.
Many attractions of interest to tourists whether it be golfing at many of the excellent golf courses in the area, cross country or down hill skiing, attending live theatre or spending an afternoon on the river or local lakes aboard any one of the many cruises, your time will be filled with memorable and enjoyable experiences.
The historical town of Washago and Ontario's most famous Las Vegas style Casino Rama are both just a short drive down the road.
Other Activities:
Canoe, Pedal boat & Row boat available. Also River and Lake cruises nearby.
