The Owner purchased this house in 2004
While vacationing in Clearwater, we discovered the quaint town of Dunedin. Its proximity to the gulf (Honeymoon Island), Clearwater Beach, Tampa and Orlando met all of the requirements that we wished for in a second home. When our realtor showed us this home we instantly fell in love. Its location is ideal for golf, shelling, beach, birding, biking and of course Spring Training!
We just stayed in this home for the 2nd time. It is a beautiful home, tastefully decorated that has everything you need for a home away from home feeling. Honeymoon Island was our favorite spot to hang out in the afternoons. I highly recommend this home to everyone!
The nicest vrbo home we have ever stayed in, a lot for the money - comfortably accommodates 7, homey bungalow yet ceramic tile gives a feeling of clean with every amenity one could imagine (read other reviews) and within a block of the Pinellas Trail. We rode miles every day once we figured out to go north instead of south. No need to seek out a bird sanctuary; the birds come daily to the yard and can be observed through the screened sunroom. We want to thank the neighbor (who also clued us in on driving through Walgreen's parking lot to go north on 19 Alternate, Bayshore Blvd) for alerting us or we might have been surprised by the blue heron and his feathery friends. Within walking distance of Walgreen's, Publix, a Dollar General and a thrift shop. Quiet neighborhood within easy driving distance of the Causeway, Honeymoon Island Park, and about 7 miles from Clearwater Beach. However, we preferred Sunset Beach in Tarpon Springs - no charge, fewer people, cabanas, grills, a small beach and also about 7 miles from the house though in the opposite direction. Our kids from Montana loved the area so much that they are seriously considering moving to the Dunedin area. The Trade Winds property definitely exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended.
This property listing exceeded our expectations. It was perfect for our girls getaway, and we felt at home immediately. The property was clean and the listing photos accurately reflected the rentals appearance. This property had everything we needed for relaxing days at the beach. Sheila was very helpful with restaurant recommendations, and we enjoyed the shopping in Dunedin. We would recommend this property and would love to return for another fun filled girls getaway.
We arrived in the evening to find that the house was a home from home, we were left a bottle of wine which was lovely and a welcome note from the owner. This gorgeous home had everything we needed, from beach towels to beaches chairs, down to hair dryer and straighteners. Sheila was very helpful from the moment we booked this villa we are living in the UK so was nice to be in contact from time to time, the home made it feel like we were at home and plenty of room for my family. I cannot commend Sheila enough and her neighbour that always made us feel welcome in the area, even a few days in Sheila emailed me to ask if all was ok. I cannot commend Sheila enough for all the help, and your home was truly stunning. We will defiantly be using this home again, thank you Sheila for all your help and look forward to staying at your home again
Kind regards Hellen xxxx
My family had a wonderful time in this relaxing vacation home! It was a very nice change of pace for my family's busy life. The house is located in a quite little neighborhood and sits back in a cul-de-sac so the street is nice and quiet.
The bay beach is just a quick drive away (or a long walk, which wouldn't be a good idea with our small children) and had all kinds of neat sea life waiting for discovery; a part of the vacation my family loved! We found tons of different crabs and fish and even a sea urchin. Then there's the pass to Honeymoon Island that is included in the rental and let me tell you, that is the best beach we've ever been to! Dolphins even swam right in front of us, so cool. Not too crowded, very quick drive, food and bathrooms on site. It was better than Clearwater beach! Which by the way, is about a 15 min drive away and was a lot of fun too!
We enjoyed watching the different types of tropical birds adorn the back yard during the day and my children enjoyed chasing many and catching one little lizard in the yard!
Downtown Dunedin was just wonderful! A lot of little shops to visit including a delicious ice cream shop that was frequented by our family.
Over all, perfect trip! We had three adults and two children ages 3 and 5 that stayed there and enjoyed our stay immensely!
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Tradewinds Drive home in Dunedin. My husband commented several times during the week that I did a "great job" finding the house. The house is charming and comfortable. They had everything we needed, including a very well stocked kitchen and linen closet.
This was our first experience with VRBO, and the ease of communication with Sheila as well as the accommodations at her home would certainly make me utilize VRBO again. I can only hope I would be as lucky making a choice in another location!
Very quiet, accessible neighborhood and Dunedin is a friendly town. We would definitely return.
Just steps from golf, Pinellas Trail, groceries, restaurants, marina and fishing. Honeymoon Island is just over the causeway. Clearwater Beach is a short drive.
Golf: Our home is steps away from 2 golf courses. St Andrews Links, an executive course and Dunedin Country Club, original home of the PGA.
