July 23, 2012, We just spent a week at Villa Florenza. Every year, for a number of years, we have a family gathering each Summer. This year we had it at VF and it was spectacular.
The location, scenery, and property was phenomenal. The infinity pool was the best part as everyone used it each day. The inside of the house was beautiful and the amenities were wonderful.
David, the caretaker, was a warm and wonderful host and very attentive to our needs. If any little thing did arise, he got it taken care of right away and was always available and timely in providing information on the house, its operation, and the surrounding area.
I would definitely go to VF again. Thanks for a wonderful time, Peter B.
What a wonderful, fantastic week we had in Chelan and at Villa Florenza! An amazing home you have built - wonderfully spacious, set up so people can have privacy in their own rooms or suites, with nice bathrooms to boot, yet when everyone gathers in the kitchen/great room/patio/pool, there is still ample room to enjoy the space and not feel on top of each other.
As a professional chef and restaurant owner, I was especially pleased with the kitchen and outdoor grill - incredible to have that sort of btu power in home appliances. Fantastic. Those nice tools, along with the huge island/prep area meant that I could be cooking breakfast or dinner, have lots of helpers, and lots of folks around chatting while I worked. I felt on vacation while working - perfect!
The best testament to the home was the fact that we all actually enjoyed being together all week. I'm an in-law, but even my wife, connected by blood, was very dubious of this week spent with her family. Instead, we had non-stop fun and such ease and comfort. And the pool is delicious, the deck/patio around it delightful, and the overall location and position in relation to the sun perfect.
Thanks so much for all the care and vision you put into Villa Florenza.
I look forward to an occasion that will bring me back to Villa Florenza soon. We loved it, loved the area, and often wondered why we should even leave the grounds. Fantastic. Thanks, Paolo. -John P.

So glad you enjoyed the VF. It is a special place! We are very happy you appreciated the gourmet chef details we put into the home both inside and out. There's nothing like working the big grill with a glass of vino and looking out at the lake over the pool. It is as you so said, delicious!
We are looking forward to having you come back. The vineyard will be put in this fall so get ready for sipping vino amongst vines soon. Ciao and grazie!
Beautiful home! We had a great stay and loved the pool area best. Did lots of BBQ'ing and just relaxed. Dave who checked us in and closed us out was awesome and made it really easy and comfortable. The owner was easy to work with and all went well. Very relaxing home with beautiful views and good deer watching as we found out!! We would stay again and really enjoyed our time at this home.

Our family of 6 adults and 7 kids just spent a wonderful week at Villa Florenza, a home that far exceeded our expectations! It is located close to town, but still feels very remote and private. The setting is serene, and the views of the lake and surrounding hills are breathtaking. The design of the house perfectly complements the setting which makes it possible to enjoy the view regardless of where you are in the house. The interior finishings of the house (luxurious bathrooms, woodwork, fireplace & decor) are as beautiful as the setting. We loved the patio and kitchen, which were the most heavily used parts of the house. The patio is very large and has an outdoor kitchen, large table with chairs, 3 loungers, a small table surrounded by chairs and benches, an arbor that provides shade, and gorgeous planters that are overflowing with flowers. The pool's design is very unique and stunning. The hot tub is connected to the pool and has a flat ledge where water from the hot tub can 'waterfall' into the pool. It is an amazing visual effect, but is also so much fun for the kids to play in. The pool has a very large shallow step which is perfect for little ones to play on, a shallow area, and a 6 ft. deep area. Everyone was happy in the pool- from infants to preteens to adults. The infinity edge was another huge perk; it looked great in pictures, and even served as a backdrop for our large family photo. The kitchen is a chef's dream. We usually had several of us in the kitchen working to prepare meals, and there was plenty of room. The large island was perfect for food preparation and serving. The 6 burner gas stove and 2 refrigerators (one in the garage) were great for big groups. There were ample dishes and silverware, and the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, bakeware, utensils, and spices. While the house has great gathering spaces, there is also opportunity for privacy: a large master suite and a loft on the upper floor, two bedrooms (one with an attached bath) on the main floor, and a spacious lower floor that is perfect for children. It is carpeted and has 2 bedrooms, a large bathroom, and a comfortable family room. Even with such a big group, we never felt crowded and the house was very quiet. We also really appreciated the house's caretaker, Dave. He was extremely friendly and helpful, and made sure we were comfortable without being obtrusive. Wonderful house, wonderful vacation, wonderful memories- thank you!

Families with Teenagers,
Families with Young Children,
My Husband and I decided to celebrate our joint 30th birthdays by treating our family to a stay with fun and sun in Chelan. While looking for a place to stay, i came across Villa Florenza and my expectations were absolutely blown away! This place is amazing! We have a variety of different physical limitations as well as different standards of "relaxing" within our family as I'm sure lots of families do, and this place definitely met everyone"s needs and desires! The pool area was incredible! I felt as if i were at my own private 5 star resort! You cant beat the view. While lounging in the pool, you feel as if you are floating on top of the world. Its surreal! As a sun worshiper, there are beautiful lounge chairs situated along the gorgeous patio with ample places to soak up some rays while feeling like royalty in your own majestic oasis! There are multiple areas outside to all come together and an awesome outdoor kitchen to have the ultimate bbq! A glorious hot tub to soak those sore muscles from all the fun you will have, if you so choose, on the lake! A beautiful walk down the hill leads to a private dock, which you can bring some music and lake toys down to too play with. The house is gorgeous; the rooms are so comfortable and there are rooms on each level so, for those who have physical limitations, there is something for everyone. Needless to say, we supremely enjoyed our stay at Villa Florenza. The caretakers were a joy to work with and made our stay that much better. Thank you Paul for opening up such a wonderful place for us! We truly enjoyed our stay and I know others will too! Don't hesitate to rent this place!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking a moment and giving such a glowing review for our home, Villa Florenza. We are very proud of the home, the aspect and the general feeling the home conveys to all our guests who rent the home for some relaxation time in Chelan and Manson. I hope you will come visit us again and as always, benvenuti!
With King Regards,
Writing a review always puts me in a conundrum because everyone always has their own opinions and if you do not agree, then interpretations can put a person on the defense. Just remember, feedback is a gift, allowing for wins and opportunities to improve.
With that being said, I just spent a week at Villa Florenza with 4 of my besties who flew in from across the country and were quite anxious to start our Girls Get Away. Saying that they were impressed by the house would be a complete understatement. They were awe-inspired by the majestic scenery, vineyard landscaping and let's not forget the celebrity style House. Our whole focus was to relax, cook phenomenal food (in the state of the art kitchen) and gab about life - far away from the every day crazy urban life we live. For those of you looking for a place to recharge, away from the cra-cra mass hysteria of human population, go to Villa Florenza in October. It is the off season in Chelan and makes for a perfect environment. The people in town are wonderful...Sorrentos Winery!
A couple friendly reminders: 1) The kitchen is outstanding, but make sure to prepare before your trip. I did and it made the experience smoother. If you are a culinary professional, definitely bring your own knives and if baking, a mixer. Just so you know, we cooked every day and only ate out twice - the night we arrived and for bunch the next day - that was it. Take advantage of the kitchen!!! 2) Buzzing - there are a lot of wasps/bees around, so make nice with them. No swatting and acting like a crazed idiot. It is nature...embrace. 3) You will probably end up making a daily trip to the market (we did) - fresh is best...or when you forgot to bring certain things. :-)
+Dave - you are the best and so patient! Thanks for walking us through everything, even when I got lost.
+Paul - thank you for all the details and graciously renting your house to me and my friends. They have already planned on a repeat visit next October. I will be calling to re-book.
OUTSTANDING HOLIDAY!!!! I have yet to stay at a vacation home that rivals Villa Florenza.
There are so many good things to say about this villa. I have rented villas all over the world, St. Barths, Italy, France, Spain, and the US. One thing we’ve learned is that each house has its own personality. Villa Florenza is no different. I write this review stating things I would have liked to know before I arrived.
Let me start by saying the location and views are terrific. It’s a very peaceful setting. The path to the lake is nice. The dock is nice as is the platform for the kids to jump into the lake. A note to kids swimming near the platform. Boats cannot see you if you are in the water. Boats come very close to the shore. I was on a boat coming to our dock and couldn’t see the platform until very close, so swimmers should be aware of boats in the area.
The house itself was lovely and large. The bedrooms were for the most part spread out, so there is a lot of privacy. I will say that there is a lack of furniture in the bedrooms. There are beds obviously, but there are no chests to put your clothes in. All of us lived out of our suitcases for the week. I think this is a major flaw of the villa. There were not enough towels and washcloths in the bathrooms or kitchen. Luckily some of us brought our own. There weren’t enough beach towels either.
The kitchen has nice appliances plus an outdoor grill. I suppose most people do not cook when they stay at this villa because we found it lacking in supplies. First, there were only enough knives for 11 and only 6 steak knives. There were barely enough forks and plates. There were no cooking staples. Not even salt or pepper. In all my rentals, I have never seen this. This kitchen is not equipped for true cooking. Maybe everything is catered or everyone goes out to eat. We cooked every meal at the villa. Absent were large serving platters. There were no pie pans or cake plates. With all the fruit in the area we would have loved to bake our own pies.
The furniture is sparse. The dining room table only seats 8. The chairs outside are most uncomfortable. When we all gathered to watch a movie several of us had to sit on the floor.
The wifi is terrible. The internet was so bad that my husband set up his phone as a hotspot. We were told the internet worked fine from the office, but this was not true.
Having said all of this, it is a lovely villa. Perfect for entertaining, but unfortunately not perfect for a week’s stay if you plan on cooking for a large group.

Owner's Response: Hello and thank you for your constructive comments on our home you rented. I would like to reply to a few of the points you listed in order to better clarify.
We purposely do not fill the rooms with any furniture beyond the necessary. The home is luxurious yes, but the outdoors, vineyard and lake, pool and spa are where guests spend their time and so we focused more energy on the pool and patio amenity. Most guests lay their suitcases out on the stands and then hang their clothes in the closets which are ample large and full of hangars. More clutter in rooms crowds people and we want to convey the open space and minimalism.
Re. supplies - we normally leave a baseline of spices and salt and pepper but beyond this, we do not furnish. We've learned over the years that some items cannot be used or renters complain about the freshness of spices and or condiments. Salt and pepper of course, likely were used up but we replace each week. Regarding the cutlery or silverware, this is new to me, the owner, as we've always had ample quantity of silverware - again likely lost, misplaced or taken by other renters. This we can replace and will do so right away. This kitchen however IS equipped for true cooking - DCS appliances and copious amounts of dishes, pans and baking ware are present. There are several pie dishes in the cabinets, my wife bakes there often and the dishes we leave for others to use. Either misplaced by others or set aside. I will fix it.
The furniture is not sparse, but certainly not cluttered. There is a full couch that reclines. There is a love seat that also reclines. There are chairs on all decks. There are several steamer chase lounges poolside. The teak furniture is heavy and solid - a requirement for rental homes poolside as otherwise it will last 1 season due to the climate. Chairs can be moved around, cushions are present throughout the home and large groups which the home caters to have always found it a pleasant place to gather.
The wifi is not terrible and perhaps it was due to the numerous forest fires burning in the area during your stay. Smoke will definitely impact a satellite internet system. I work from this home often during the year and have never issues and I send large files via email from my office in the loft.
Lastly, I disagree with your conclusion the home is not perfect for a week's stay. It rivals any home in the Chelan valley: A lakefront home with a pool, spa, vineyard and unparalleled views.
This area is known for its fruit orchards and upcoming vineyards and wineries. Gorgeous views, crystal clear waters of Lake Chelan and 300+ days of sunshine create a truly beautiful valley in North Central Washington State.
