Marathon is located in the middle of the fabulous Florida Keys. Marathon, situated mainly on Vaca, Fat Deer, and Grassy Keys, is a 10-mile-long island city at the midpoint of the Florida Keys island chain. Locals call their home 'The heart of the Keys' for geographic reasons, but also to reflect the old-Keys lifestyle they enjoy among the spectacular fishing, diving, snorkeling and sailing. Sombrero Reef, a federally protected section of North America's only living coral barrier reef, lies just a few miles offshore. Beyond it are the deep blue waters of the Florida Straits, which teem with billfish and tuna in the winter and dolphin fish in the summer. On the north side of the island lie the calm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, Florida Bay and the Keys back-country.

We stayed in this vacation home in mid-April and it was fabulous. It is very private and extremely comfortable. We spent most of our time on the patio or in the pool or tiki hut. Our 18 yr old son and his girlfriend loved the place as well. A perfect hideaway to relax and do nothing!!
The house is very nice and had every amenity that we needed.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans etc. so we were able to cook in when we wanted. There are loads of restaurants and things to do near by. The pool was spotless and very inviting. The landscaping is just gorgeous and provided the privacy for the patio area. We will certainly be back!! Thanks John and Jeb!!

My family of four stayed for the opening of the 2009 regular lobster season and loved every minute of staying at this wonderful house. Everything we needed was either at the house or very close by. We used every amenity the house had to offer; the pool, tiki hut, dock, outside dining areas and porches. We even caught fish for dinner one night off the dock. The kitchen was perfect. There wasn't a meal we couldn't make. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious. Everyone could stretch out and feel right at home. I highly recommend this house for anyone looking for a house that has it all in the Keys.

Excellent Vacation Home!

We stayed in this home at the end of July for mini lobster week. It was wonderful; clean and well maintained- as stated in the description! Easy access to the ocean, yet quitely situated at the end of a canal; away from the hustle. The pool/tiki area is great for relaxing and entertaining. The owner and local property manager were very accessible and easy to deal with. I would definitely recommend this home to friends.

My family and I spent the week of July the 4th. We had a great time the house was perfect it was very comfortable to all our needs. It's the home I always wanted for a getaway. We would go out in the boat in the morning and the afternoons in the warm pool eatting our freshly caught fish... It was great or just do nothing and read a book by the pool.....I highly recommend this home .......Thank John

this was a beautiful home. we went down with our two teenage boys and they loved it also. the pool was crystal clear. the tiki hut was just perfect for sitting under in the late afternoon. the interior of the house was spotless. everything you need for a perfect paradise vacation. I would highly recommend tis home to everyone.
