Spacious and comfortable retreat from the fast-paced city just outside its walls: green, serene, and refreshing yet centrally located. An excellent 'home base' in every respect, painstakingly restored as a labor of love. Central a/c comfort, soaring beam ceiling, stained glass, Florida coral rock. Wonderful master bedroom with large queen size (IKEA) bed, roomy loft, full kitchen of fine quality (incl. microwave, dw) and clean comfortable bath (shower). Great possibilities for a private historic garden 'compound' with house next door, prop. # 174127. A super place to entertain or kick back, enjoy Satellite TV, or pick up a book from quirky but fun library. Hi-speed Internet conn. freely available for your use.

A great and highly desirable central location in a sprawling city, only minutes from Coconut Grove, beautiful Biscayne Bay and Key Biscayne, Coral Gables, and Miami Beach. Easy access to I-95 and other major highways, heading N for Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, etc., and S for the Biscayne Bay and Everglades National Parks, the Florida keys, and Key West. Just a short walk to the corner for great Cuban coffee, an excellent laundromat, and a small market ('groceria'). A few blocks beyond awaits the experience of Calle Ocho, or 8th Street, a colorful slice of Cuban life thriving in American soil.

Also, certain unique features of the Cottage may be challenging, or potentially unsafe, for children who have not yet reached a certain level of maturity. Specifically, a 12' tall ladder leads up to the sleeping loft above. The ladder is strong and well-secured, but no place to play (even though carefully secured). Also, an excavated coral rock formation central to the landscaping of the tropical garden sitting just steps from the front door (though completely enclosed) might call for adult supervision of very young, energetic, and curious children!
