Clutching the snow out of the air as the storm systems lighten their loads to cross the mighty Teton Range, Grand Targhee Resort steals the best of the snow away from Jackson and is well known for huge dumps. up to five hundred inches of snow fall here in a season. Grand Targhee Resort also features the only Snow Cat skiing in the area - and it is just fabulous - acres and acres of untracked powder snow accessed by snow cat. What an adventure! In addition to all this advanced-level skiing, however, Grand Taghee is known for its family-friendly service, ski / snowboard schools and easy-going, non-intimidating stature as a 'boutique resort' amid the giants. If you want something big, steep and scary - then Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is less than an hour away.
Summer in Teton Valley: The Teton Valley is becoming known as a destination for those who love the out-doors and all that the mountain environment has to offer. Nearby Grand Targhee Resort has a host of summer activities, from out-door music concerts to rope-courses, nature hikes, horse-back riding, while elsewhere in the valley abundant sports and relaxation opportunities await you. Just walking the many forest trails in the foothills - or scrambling the high peaks could keep you occupied for weeks! ninety minutes in either direction will take you to Yellowstone national Park, and Grant Teton National Park - where there's geothermal features, abundant wildlife, huge mountain ranges, visitor centers and so much more. Jackson Hole, just over Teton Pass, is where you will go for your 'town' fix.
