Superb Getaway for Relaxation & Holidays any Time of the Year!!! We are on E Gorrie!!

Upstairs unit with front deck facing the Gulf!! The Living/Dining/Kitchen Combination is open and faces the Beach.

The best description is Comfortable, Cozy and Clean Beach Accommodations with a Water View. Designated parking with two (2) spaces. Boat & Trailer parking allowed temporarily with special permission.

Our unit is one of five. Not all are rentals. Buildings were not originally built as condominiums. Responsible and considerate tenants are appreciated by all.

Commercial Laundry's are in the area, or use our shared laundry room. Conservative Hint: Dry your towels and re-use them.

The beach has protected Turtle nests May - October & all beach-facing lighting is kept to low levels per regulations in their interests. Also pets must be controlled and everyone must pick-up after their pets on the property and beach.

St. George has great restaurants within walking distance and is a great place to take your bicycles, strollers, golfcarts, skatebaords, etc.. One third of the island is a beautifully protected Beach & Bay Front park.

Historic Apalachicola has several award winning Restaurants, Antique shops, Waterfront establishments and numerous unique places to visit. Various kinds of Tours are available of surrounding estuaries, bays, botanical gardens, cemetaries, unpopulated islands, etc..

Super relaxed and comfortable

This was just perfect for our stay. We wanted an affordable beach experience and were able to get it, just steps away from the Gulf. The kitchen was very well equipped, everything was clean and home-y and beds were very comfortable. The deck was fantastic for watching the birds during the day and stargazing at night! Sunrise on the beach here is the best ever! We only wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely book this again on our next visit to beautiful St. George Island! Thank you!

We had a great time on St. George Island, Florida. Beautiful sandy beaches and lots of sunshine. It was a little cool part of the time (this was February after all), but we were always able to enjoy the things to see and do in the area. We also enjoyed lots of fresh seafood. This rental property was very comfortable and well-stocked for our stay. It is a middle-of-the-road rental, not luxurious but that's why the price is what it is. We had everything we needed and the owner was very responsive to our inquiries and needs. What a beautiful setting, even though it is not right on the beach. We were within a hundred feet and could see the Gulf of Mexico from our deck. Also, we witnessed spectacular sunsets!

Great Location!

We stayed at this house for Thanksgiving weekend and enjoyed our stay very much! The owner, Debra, is very nice and easy to work with. The house has been very well maintained, was very clean and smelled nice and fresh. The location is very convenient to the central part of the island where the market, BJ's Pizza and other bars/restaurants are. The deck has a good view of the ocean, but is about 1/2 the price of a house sitting on the beach = a great deal for a beach house at St. George :-) We would rent here again in the future.

Family Vacation at St. George Island

I would like to begin by saying that we thoroughly enjoyed St. George Island. The beach was spectacular!! Next I would like to say that we had a few problems with the property including a leaking ceiling in the bathroom, the dryer in the shared laundry room did not work and we had bugs in the bed in the master bathroom. I communicated all of this to Deb through emails and texts, including pictures and videos. Debra was prompt in returning texts and phone calls and is currently looking into what VRBO can do to make it up to us. We also left a bag with the bugs on duct tape for the cleaning person to see. I would recommend St. George Island in a minute, but would not recommend this property to a friend or relative. I understand that things can not be fixed immediately but when you have to deal with bugs in your bed while you are on vacation it is quite disturbing.

I would recommend driving to the bridge in the evening and taking sunset pictures and take a walk on the beach in the morning to see the sunrise, it is beautiful and will always be a fond memory for me.

I continue to wait to hear a response from Debra in terms of what VRBO can do to make this up to us, as she assured me that they pride themselves in maintaining a clean and comfortable unit for their guests.

Owner's Response: The leaking ceiling in the bathroom is only a bit of peeling paint. I asked this guest if she observed water dripping from the ceiling but didn't receive an answer to my question. I admit it is time for the bathroom to be painted and this will be completed in a few weeks when I make my trip to the unit for the post summer maintenance items. Our unit has been occupied by many, people this spring and summer since my earlier trip this year and we've had a great number of satisfied customers - the most recent review being less than one month ago!!!! The dryer heating element apparently failed and this was my first notification – this too will be fixed shortly. The bug issue wasn't reported until they had spent six nights in our unit so bugs were obviously not a problem upon arrival nor, the first, second, third, fourth, or fifth nights.... My cleaning lady informed me that the sample bugs left by this guest were common Gnats. Gnats come inside when they find a door and/or a window open during the evenings all over the southern USA, including Florida. This guest has requested a full refund or a free week in another unit.......... I was not notified that they were unhappy with the unit upon arrival. They didn't leave early so I can only assume the unit wasn't in such bad condition to warrant a refund. The fact is, I incurred extra cleaning charges after this guest left. All the trash cans were left full, their garbage was left inside the unit, they left food in the refrigerator, including containers needing to be cleaned, coffee grounds in the coffee pot, plus one comforter had to be cleaned after their stay. The comforter was free of bugs - it just needed to be cleaned........ To her credit, this guest sent two separate emails through VRBO which I didn't receive until she copied me at the end of the week, one was about the bathroom and the other was about the dryer. I only promised to look into the mail problem with VRBO email problem – not any other issues with VRBO.

Amazzing trip

This was our first time at this rental on SGI. From the very beginning that experience was pleasant. The owner was very easy to deal with, responded quickly and was honest in her communication. The rental and its features were exactly as advertised. Everything was clean and well stocked. Very comfortable. Was it a 5 Star accommodation at a resort? No it wasn't. But that is not how it was advertised. I took my 2 daughters and their husbands as well as my 4 year old grandson. They had a great time which made my trip very enjoyable. The access to the beach was very close.

We will defin be back if they will have us

This was our second time staying at this unit. Debra is very easy to work with as far as payment options. The unit is nice and clean. Plenty of Kitchen items. It would have been nice to have had better cable. There were only 2 working T.V.'s and the cable package only consisted of 17 channels. Most of these channels were local. Not that we go to the beach to watch tv but I have 3 kids and it is nice to watch some television before you go to bed. Overall, very happy with the unit and the owners. Would stay again.
