The owners of Golden Stars Apartments are: Tom (painter and ceramic artist) and Sother (fashion designer and interior decorator). We are both artists living and working in Budapest, where we take an active part in the city’s artistic and cultural life, and participate in various international exhibitions as well. Our apartments give you a taste of aristocratic Budapest and its highly developed cultural life. As professional artists (designers) we have strived to create an exclusive, aesthetically pleasing environment. We have both designed suites for various major hotels (such as Kempinski, Hilton), and sought to outfit our apartments to equally high, luxurious standards.
Tom purchased this apartment in 2005

We stayed in Golden Stars Royal apartment at November 2008. Having Tomas as our host was wonderful! He was very helpful, provided maps, suggested best local restaurants, pubs etc. At our departure day he arranged us a shuttle back to the airport.
The apartment itself was great, equipped with WIFI and phone. Very clean, very cozy with comfortable bed. The apartment was incredibly peaceful at night. There is a private balcony facing to the small semi-pedestrian street. The building is beautiful with full of history. The entrance gate is georgious! 5-6 years with my family using apartments, but this one was the BEST!
The location just perfect. Being that close to the metro enabled us to quickly stop by 'home' and drop our stuff, take a rest and go on with our sightseeing. Very convenient. There is a mini market right next to the apartment, they sell fresh eggs, cheese, all the freshest dairy you can think of. There is also a bakery shop and vine shop and quite a few number of great cafes and restaurants within a 1 minute walk.
All in all we had great time and definitely will come back! SW.
Tomas was awesome. So welcoming. He arranged all my transportation from the station and back to the airport, and was genuinely accommodating. The flat was quite and peaceful, in the heart of everywhere you'd want to be. Public transportation was a gorgeous three minute walk, and with the historic Central Cafe one block away, it quickly became my favorite breakfast spot. Needless to say, because of such a perfect apartment, I have fallen in love with Budapest. Tomas was my first impression and I will definitely be back. Thank you Tomas!
We stayed in the Superior II, 1-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment. The location is great because it is located close to many major attractions as well as Vorosmarty Ter station on historic Metro Line 1 and the tram that runs along river toward the Central Market at one end the Parliament at the other. So, it’s very easy to get around. Despite its central location, the apartment is quite quiet, which I greatly appreciated as I am a light sleeper. It is located on the corner of two pedestrian shopping streets. The interior of the apartment is gorgeous with stylish decor and very high ceilings and your own private balcony. Everything was very clean. The only draw back for some people might be the fact that it is located on the top floor and since the ceilings are so high, as it is a historic building, there is a little bit of a hike up the stairs involved (no elevator/lift).
Tomas is a great host! He was very prompt in response to my emails and offered us a great deal considering it was the off-season. He was waiting for us at the apartment with the keys and gave us a thorough tour of the apartment and its features. Additionally, he gave us great restaurant recommendations. When it was time for us to leave, he met us at the apartment and even called a cab for us to go to the airport. He also graciously carried my small bag up and down the stairs during check in and check out, which being pregnant, I greatly appreciated!
I would highly recommend this apartment and its host, Tomas.
Entering this apartment is a treat each time: you know that much thought and artistry went into all aspects of the décor. We stayed in the one bed two bath unit, so it felt quite luxurious. I even got out onto the balcony a few times (in November). The location puts you within walking distance of most of the major attractions, including being only a few blocks from the Danube.
Dealing with Tomas was very good, and we appreciated his arranging car services and providing some good guidance upon greeting us. He even carried our heavy suitcase up the three flights of stairs to the apartment!
My husband and I recently stayed in this apt. and loved it. The location is fabulous and the apt. is so tastefully decorated and charming. The furniture and art and decor is wonderful and is very pleasing to the eye. Kitchen is quite small but adequate. Tomas is very pleasant to work with and prompt with replies. Would have loved more plush towels! The dining recommendations from Tomas where all wonderful. Would certainly use this again.
My mother and I made a small trip across Central Europe this July, and at this apartment were treated to some of the best service we have ever received on our travels. The owner, Tomas, arranged for a very punctual and reasonably priced driver to meet us at the train station, and also to take us back there at the end of our three-day stay. Tomas was already waiting for us when we were driven up to the apartment, and very courteously walked us through all the amenities and functions there. It is situated in the very heart of Budapest, with nearly all the major attractions within reasonable walking distance (we never had to take any public transport). However, it looks out onto a very calm and quiet courtyard, so you are never bothered by the bustling pedestrian street outside. There are two comfortable beds in separate rooms, plus a wide folding one in the living room. The interior was clean and very tastefully done, undoubtedly owing to the fact that the owner himself is an artist - the fantastic artworks adorning the walls are his own. The kitchen space is long and easy to work in, and features a surprisingly spacious dining area. Other amenities include air-conditioning (you can also open the windows, as the private courtyard is secure), a large flatscreen tv with hundreds of channels, a large collection of Budapest guidebooks (we realized we needn't have brought our own - there was a copy of the same one there), wi-fi, and a VoIP phone for free calls to Canada and the US. The pedestrian street that the apartment building rests on is absolutely filled to the brim with restaurants and cafés, the best of which Tomas will not hesitate to recommend. You can truly go on a culinary adventure, as the food is all relatively cheap, and one Budapest portion was usually more than enough to feed the two of us. While there are a host of attractions to visit nearby, one of our favourites was Gellért Baths, which is just fifteen minutes away on the other side of the river. A completely unique and regal experience! But beware: once you get there, you won't want to leave! Don't forget to visit the gorgeous parliament building and Castle Hill, which is especially beautiful at sunset. All in all, our stay in Budapest was as enjoyable as could be, without a doubt owing to the fact that coming back to an apartment like this one is a real pleasure. We hope to return to Budapest, and will definitely book with Tomas - his hospitality and quality of service is unparalleled.
