Loved it! Your cottage is so comfortable-felt right at home. Peaceful views of lake. Enjoyed making fires in the evening. We had a great family vacation-hiking, canoeing, and playing games. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us. Would love to come back.
This had to be one of our best vacations ever, and certainly the busiest. We traveled a lot, but really enjoyed returning to the cottage, which felt more like home. It was beautiful, comfortable and practical in every sense. We also lucked out with the weather and were able to grill and eat outside almost every evening. We also managed to squeeze some fishing in as well. The owners were a true pleasure to work with and, God willing, we will most assuredly be returning here. Oh, I should also mention he cottage was exactly like the pictues, VERY clean and I would highly recommend it to one and all.
I love this cottage on the lake! It is the perfect place to escape for a long weekend or week. The décor is lake chic and so very comfortable. It's very clean, well maintained and just plain cozy. The screened is porch is where you'll live--because this lake is stunning. Truly a best kept secret of lakes. It is a dry town so be sure to bring plenty of your own wine.
First of all, the description of this property fails to mention that there are 27 steps, some of them steep, to get down the hill to the house. Definitely an issue older adults or for anyone dealing with even minor orthopedic issues. Aside from that, the description is really misleading. It may be charming to some, but it is definitely not 'upscale', and definitely not 'recently renovated'. The 'new' bathroom was not only dirty, but tiles were coming up off the floor. The 'new' kitchen is not as big as a walk-in closet. Several light bulbs were burned out. It would have been nice to sit out on the deck - but both deck chairs were broken - and the furniture on the screened porch was stained and dirty-looking. As for the TV, bring plenty of DVD's, or a cable for streaming from a computer, since there are only about 7 real channels available.
The only thing really accurate about the description of this house is the number of rooms, the location and the view.
My husband and I recently spent a week at this cottage. It is very cute and charming. We absolutely LOVED the screened porch and spent all of our evenings sitting out there. This place is great for fishing and kayaking. We used the grill a lot. Just be prepared that the fridge and stove are not full size. We just used our coolers to keep drinks cold. I highly recommend this place for a quiet get-away. If you like adult beverages, bring your own as this is a DRY county. Be sure to walk the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. It is beautiful. Leann and Suzette are very helpful and accommodating.
We spent a wonderful week on the lake. The owners were very kind to provide us with a couple of kayaks, and kayaking around the lake was magical. The lake is very quiet, and you get a great view of the mountains from the center of the lake. We also hiked at Joyce Kilmer and around Fountana Village.
The cottage is tiny, but clean and nice, just perfect for our get-away-as a couple - vacation.
A wonderful place to get away and truly unwind. Cottage was sweetly decorated (no kitschy trout lamps;) and comfortable. Throughly enjoyed our stay, especially spending time on the screened in porch overlooking the water. Note: bring paper toiletry items. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway.
