Ahhhh!

Review Submitted: January 20, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
The scent of the pine trees, the crisp kiss of the winter air, the world so quiet that it almost hurts, and views so fantastic you just thank God for creating something so magnificent! I already miss it...and I just left!

Gary and David gave our family a great gift - good old fashioned family fun! No cable and a chest full of board games meant that we were able to reconnect with the family and have a lot of laughs. We had such a great time this past weekend at the cabin - with day trips to Breckenridge and Vail we were able to do the tourist things, but still escape back to peace and quiet for the evening.

The description of the cabin (and previous reviews) are exactly what you get. The pictures do not do this place any justice, you have to see it and the views to believe it. Even with four adults and two kids, two cars full of stuff, and a large trip to the grocery store we had plenty of room. The cabin is well cared for and is nicely decorated. I did a lot of cooking while we were there and the kitchen provided all the tools I needed and more.

We all highly recommend staying here if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of resort towns.

Thank you Gary and David!!!
And we loved the cookies, thank you!
Owner's Response: We're really glad that you enjoyed your stay at our beautiful mountain house. Its always a relaxing time for us there, and the peaceful serenity of the woods and views only make it more so.

We are centrally located to do day trips to Breckenridge, Keystone, or even Vail in the north as you did, to Buena Vista (and rafting on the Arkansas River), the Royal Gorge, and even Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak to the south and west. Our home makes for a great location whether you just want to rest and relax, or stay somewhere that allows your family the convenience of some very diverse day trips from skiing, to canyons, to rafting, to hiking, or four wheeling.

We hope that you'll come back and stay with us again in another season! Glad you enjoyed the cookies!

Just what we were looking for!

Lee & Deb Red Lion, PA
Review Submitted: October 3, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
This beautiful mountain home is just what we were looking for.... and more! What a wonderful place to just simply relax and soak in all of Colorado's beauty.

You couldn't ask for a cleaner, more comfortable home away from home. Gary & David go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are very helpful if you have any questions about the area, and they suggested several things to do while we were on our vacation.

We would definitely recommend this property to any of our friends and family. In fact, after hearing our vacation stories, one of our friends says he is going to check it out.

We spent an afternoon at the Platte Ranch Riding Stables near Fairplay, and we highly recommend this experience. The horseback ride was indescribable, and afterward we enjoyed a delicious steak and chicken dinner.

In the area around Fairplay, there are a lot of back roads to explore with a four wheel drive vehicle, and of course we only scratched the surface. The aspens put on quite a show for us!

The night-time sky also put on quite a show! We couldn't believe all of the stars in the sky. I couldn't get over all of the shooting stars we counted! We never closed the curtains in the bedroom.... I cannot describe how relaxing it was to just lay in bed and look out the large windows and just watch the sky. I didn't want to close my eyes and go to sleep!

If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. Thanks Gary & David... and the brownies were awesome!

True bliss!!!

Review Submitted: August 4, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
I truely felt that I was staying in the home of a dear friend. From the pictures Gary shared to the wonderful platter of brownies that awaited us on our arrival.

Staying here was magical. It started with miles, and miles of twinkling stars in the night sky, don't see that in the city. It included laughter and precious time spent with my husband and kids, playing games and telling stories. It was the peaceful sound of quiet, no cars, horns or loud crowds. All this wonderful time spent in one of the most beautiful locations. The house is awesome, every need is met. The views are spectacular. Gary and David put alot time in putting together suggestions for places to eat, hikes to take , and where to buy groceries, etc... It was greatly appreciated.

We were delighted to be in Fairplay for the annual "Burro Days". Seeing Llamas running through town was a hoot.

I would hope everyone would have the opportunity to decompress in this lovely home. It is amazing all that gets lost in our hectic lives and this is the perfect place to relax, breathe and enjoy the beauty that is all around us!!!

I can't wait to visit again, Gary and David are the perfect hosts. Thanks again for sharing your home. I am comforted to know that in 12 hours I can be back in one of the most blissful places on earth!!!

Best Fall Vacation

Paul @ Kathryn Algonquin, IL
Review Submitted: October 18, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
Our friends came to visit from Poland and after a busy week sightseeing Chicago what a different change of pace. We loved the cabin, very cozy and clean, equipped with everything you need. Words can't describe the views, you have to see it.!!! We spent a week in September(20-27) when the Aspen started to change the colors-amazing!!!
We choose the cabin because of it central location, just 1,5 hours drive from the ariport and close to all atractions, drive up Pikes Peak was an all time thrill for us.
The owners are great, very helpful, they strive to make your stay feel like home. We all came back with priceless memories and beautiful pictures.
Definitely we would like to recommend this cabin.
Thank you.
Owner's Response: Thank you! We're really glad that you and your friends enjoyed your autumn vacation at our mountain cabin. We agree that its hard to beat the views, and the aspens changing just make it that much more beautiful. When the snow starts to fall, its equally as breathtaking.

The cabin is central to so many sightseeing locations throughout central Colorado, from Breckenridge and Keystone to Pikes Peak to the Royal Gorge to Buena Vista and Fairplay.

Our cabin is also a great place to rest, relax, and recharge yourself. We find it hard to leave after we've been there for several days. Its just such a peaceful, relaxing and spiritual place - hard to find in our nonstop world today!

Thanks again for your business.

The honeymoon get away of my dreams!!!!!

Melissa 1211 Port Richey, Florida, US
Review Submitted: May 15, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
My fiance' and I looked for a long time before finding this listing, but it was a true God send. It just felt right for our honeymoon we were planning. Being true Floridians we knew nothing about the mountains or planning such a trip. Gary & David provided us with so much more than just a cabin. They helped us with our itinerary , weather updates and just some really awesome things to do.
The picutres do not do it justice at all. The views are never ending and once you are there you pretty much do not want to leave. We cooked out on the deck everyday and drank a few cold ones and truly enjoyed God's gifts. I have some of the best photographs ever, best of all some wonderful memories. We spent 7 awesome days and I did not want to leave. I am really looking forward to coming back for our anniversary.
Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts David & Gary for a really home away from home experience we really enjoyed your Indian Mountain Cabin, Hope to see you soon,.
