'The Beast' Located off 16A the Intervale Resort Loop 10 minutes to North Conway Outlets and restaurants, 10 minutes to Attitash or Cranmore, 20 minutes for Wildcat Mountain, 5 minutes to Storyland, 2 minutes to Tuckerman's Tavern. This house has room for a large group or family reunion and can accommodate up to 24 people comfortably. With 22 beds in 10 bedrooms, 7 full baths and 2 half baths nobody has to wait for a shower, a fully equipped kitchen with 2 stoves/ovens, 2 microwaves, 2 refrigerators, 2 coffee makers, food preparation is a snap, with dinner seating for 24 on 2 tables and a bar kids and adults can have their space, 2 fireplace sitting rooms, 2 play rooms with games, a 35' TV room with couch seating for 12, washer and dryer, and large deck area, large gas grill.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Families and family groups are preferred, quoted prices may change + as dates become booked.
  • The rate is as displayed in the rates section of website, the availability is up to date. Call me when you are committed to time frame, number of people and to send a check for the rental fee.
    I will confirm your fees: rental, security, cleaning and linens.
    After I receive a check for the agreed amount I will remove the dates requested from availability.
    I will then send you a rental agreement usually by email. After you read it and sign it, I will deposit your rental check and the Beast is yours for that time frame.
    I will require a $1000.00 security deposit 30 days prior to rental date, from which I will deduct the cleaning fee ($300.00 is an average cleaning fee, the cleaner the house the smaller the cleaning fee, having said that I always have my staff clean the house between rentals so the fee will not be $0).
    Upon your arrival you are pleasantly surprised on how large the place is and its condition.
    Usually within 14 days I will send back the reminder of your security depos

Garden: The Beast has a vegetable garden which you are welcome to weed and pick if ripe. Children are encouraged!

Bears: There is a family of bears in the neighborhood, do not leave any food outside or you may have some uninvited guests. The bears are not a problem and not dangerous unless you get between them and their food, do not attempt to get too close or touch them. They can often be seen feeding on the side of the road and seem oblivious to cars.

Swimming : There are numerous opportunities for swimming in the areas lakes and rivers. There are several areas of nearby rivers (big streams actually) which are perfect for families with children the water is clean, cool and not deep. I will make locations available to renters.

Pefect house for families with kids

My family and friends with kids (24 people) recently spent a relaxing weekend in this house. This house has a lot of indoor games (foosball, free throw duel basketball, board games) and outdoor (rope tree swing and regular swings). Kids loved them. The house and the deck are huge and is great for a big families. One thing I have to compliment on is the kitchen. Like the house it is also huge and it also comes with two of everthing (stoves, frige, microwave, etc.). It really helped when you are cooking for twenty people =). Would recommend to my friends.

Great family-friendly house!

Our family of 24, ages 5-70, enjoyed a week at The Beast this summer. It was the ideal setting for us and between the house, deck, and yard we had more than enough space to get out of each others' way if needed. It was perfect for our family and we could really "live" there comfortably because it is so family friendly--amenities, decor, layout. The kids (including 6 under 10), enjoyed it immensely. The house, although not handicapped accessible, was easy for one of our family members who has some mobility issues.

The Beast is conveniently located near a great sampling of outdoor activities (swimming, boating, hiking, biking, etc.) as well as man-made recreational sites--free or for fees. We'd go there again without question. Thanks to Steve for a few great tips on nearby watering holes to enjoy and for having an affordable vacation house for a big family like ours!

New Years at the Beast

My three siblings, spouses, and eight children (ages 11-23) rented Steve's place, "The Beast", over New Years. It was perfect. Although the weather was not ideal for skiing and snowboarding, we were thrilled that "The Beast" was such a great place to hang out and enjoy family time together. There was plenty of room for everyone to have privacy when needed. The kitchen and living room are large enough to accommodate everyone. It's location is ideal, being located right near many of North Conway's finest attractions. You can tell that Steve works very hard to maintain and update "The Beast." It is very unique, clean, accomodating, and comfortable. We will cherish our memories and we look forward to next year.
Owner's Response: The Beast was built by an Italian Eye Doctor who loved children and had 8 as his family grew so did the house. The house was built with family in mind, a large family room with vaulted ceilings, fireplace, sitting area, dinning area with seating for 24, kitchen with 2 of everything: ovens, refrigerators, coffee makers, 10 bedrooms in 4 different areas no hotel hallways, 9 baths, large deck, private location with a treed backyard. As the current caretaker the best part is to look forward to your next visit.
