You will be refreshed after a stay in our chalet. It is perfect for romantic getaways, family trips or a group of friends. After a day of skiing Jack Frost/Big Boulder, outlet shopping, whitewater rafting, fishing, catching a NASCAR race or enjoying one of the many other local attractions, you can relax in our 6 person hot tub under the stars. Then you can retreat to the great room with the stone fireplace and nestle on the couch in front of a wood burning fire. You can send the kids upstairs to the loft to watch TV, view a movie or play one of the games we have. You can grill out on the back deck and enjoy a game of Frisbee on our spacious flat backyard. Perhaps you would rather escape to the quiet front porch and read or just appreciate nature. Our driveway which boasts parking for 5 cars across, opens up to a quiet side street that is perfect for kids to ride bikes. There is a bedroom and full bath on the first floor. It is situated just adjacent to the main living area.

Our home is located in Towamensing Trails community. It features a 270 acre lake (undergoing maintenance in 2009) with beach, clubhouse, pool, arcade, snack bar, playground, tennis & basketball courts. We are located about an hour from Knoebel Amusement Park. The community is within 50 minutes or less of Bushkill Falls, Dorney Park, huge outdoor flea market, largest general store in the area, minor league baseball, Pocono Downs (casinos, horse racing, etc.) Mt. Airy Casino Resort and more. We are 30 min. or less from Jim Thorpe (whitewater rafting, historic homes to tour and more), Camelback ski/Camelbeach, Tanner Outlet Center, Beltzville State Park, and Mauch Chunk Lake Park. We are located less than 10 minutes from Big Boulder/Jack Frost, Hickory Run State Park, Split Rock Resort, and Pocono Raceway. The three parks near us all have beautiful lakes with numerous amenities including beaches, fishing with stocked lakes, waterskiing, hiking, boat rentals, ice fishing & more.

  • Bathroom 1 is on the first floor so a guest could enjoy our home without ever climbing the stairs to the second floor.

  • Our house is great because it can accommodate 4 couples or 2-3 families with kids. Bedroom 1 is on the first floor adjacent to the kitchen, living area and a full bath (shower stall). This is a great feature for those who want to avoid steps. Also, it features a brand new orthopedic mattress. Bedroom 2 has 1 set of bunk beds with the bottom bunk being a double bed. This room has a glider rocker with ottoman for rocking those little ones to sleep. Bedroom 3 has 1 set of bunk beds and an additional twin that has a trundle bed underneath that can pop up right next to the twin. It can form a makeshift king size bed. Bedrooms 2 & 3 are upstairs with the loft adjacent to it. The loft has a futon that pulls out to a double bed. It also has a TV, VCR, and an X-box that can play DVDs and of course one of the 11 video games provided. It is a good place for the kids to hang out, watch movies and play games. In the dining area you can plug your laptop into our internet access.

Notes: We have a water filtration system on our sink. The water comes out ice cold. We have a cappuccino machine and a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker. We have netting on our balcony for child safety. We also have a baby gate available for the stairs. We have a pack n play and a high chair/sassy seat that clips onto the dining table. We have a few toys and kids books. We have a few novels for adults as well as a few games for adults and older kids. We have a very old swing set in our back yard that kids 5 and under might enjoy. We have a flat side street that runs next to our property that is great for kids to ride bikes on. Internet access is also available upon request for long term renters. Also within 5 minutes of our house is a small workout gym with Curves type circuit, aerobic machines, lifting equipment and more. It is designed for women, but arrangements can be made for the men to use it during off hours. You don't have to be a member; just pay as you go.

Summer fun in 2009: We have 3 parks near us with beachfront lakes: Hickory Run State Park (~10 min.) and Beltzville State Park and Mauch Chunk Lake Park (both ~ 20 min.). Beltzville permits motor boats and water skiing and they have all kinds of boat rentals. They have a section of the lake that is non-motorized too for those who like the quiet of a canoe. All 3 lakes have fishing with many different varieties stocked. They all have extensive hiking trails, picnicing and snack bars. Hickory Run boasts a frisbee golf course and Boulder Field a Natural National Landmark. Indoor fun: Split Rock resort which is ~ 5 min. away just built an indoor water park that is open to the public. They also have a small bowling alley, arcade and movie theater. All of these are in one building which is great for a rainy day.

Long weekend

Rented the house from Thursday through Sunday. The house itself was good, no complaints. We were told on Thursday that the jacuzzi was broken and that someone would come on Friday to fix it, nobody came until Saturday, patched it up and it worked for about an hour before breaking again. Next there was no soap, no dish sponge, no soap even for the dishwasher. Also a nice sign on the refrigerator that basically said if the grill is out of gas, go refill(buy) some on your own. I've rented many houses before, never had this many inconveniences. Basically this house is for anyone who will not be cooking or using dishes.

Great location for families, nice place to relax!

We rented this house in April and had a wonderful time. It's quiet and peaceful, yet close to so many things. We went to Bushkill Falls and Jim Thorpe easily. We have 2 young children - It is very family friendly and was a great Pocono experience. We loved the early Spring weather, and are excited to return one summer day to take advantage of the pool and lakes. We will return! Thank you!!

Nice & Relaxing

It's a nice and relaxing chalet in the moutains. Good community and friendly people. We have stayed here the last two years with friends of ours and we had our kids and their kids to. Plenty to do in and outside the community. Plenty of wildlife to see, turkey and deer. The kids really enjoyed it along with the adults. It's clean and owner friendly. The hot tube is very relaxing. I would recommend this to friend or other family member. Good food at the local pizza and ice cream place. It was easy to get to Jim Thorpe and Camelback.

Relaxing Experiencing in Albrightsville

My family and friends recently had a wonderful week in our Albrightsville Rental. I had never rented a property so I needed to have my hands held throughout the process. Frances, the owner, was extremely responsive to my questions and led me kindly through the process. The house was as good as advertised and we ended our vacation feeling both refreshed and feeling that our money had been well-spent.

The house offered more sleeping space than our small group of five needed and it provided us with plenty of recreational space and amenities. If the group enjoys simply "hanging" out and relaxing, it is a very comfortable place. We found it helpful to bring foodstuffs with us so that we wouldn't have to travel well out of our way to stock up on groceries. The kitchen was very user-friendly and it had all of the amenities that we needed.

The house had been cleaned when we arrived so we could move right any without fuss or hassles. Neighbors were friendly and the community itself was welcoming.

We never visited the community pool, but we witness neighbors with little children coming and going to the pool often. It is my sense that one goes up to the Poconos during non-skiing season to relax and not get around much. There is whitewater rafting, paintballing, and Dorney Park relatively close by, but for the most part, we were comfortable simply resting at home instead of traveling to most of the local attractions. Dorney Park was fun though.

I would certainly rent this property again without hesitation. It is the perfect size for about 6-8 (comfortably) in terms of private sleeping spaces.

Lovely Weekend

This is a very well kept house and had everything we needed. There is more then enough room for a large family all though we were only 2 people. Very nice corner location and very private. The hot tub is a big plus. The community is clean and there is allot to do if you have a family. I recommend staying for more then a weekend!!!
