The property is located very close to the 'Rota Romantica' (Romantic Route) , in the mountain region (Serra) near Porto Alegre. It is an area that was primarily colonized by Germans and most of its population is of German descent. It is close to an area, also in the mountains (bear with us the mountains are not like the Rockies, they are older mountains, but the landscape is very beautiful). There is a lot of wildlife in the region, and many unique plant specimens including the Araucaria Brasiliensis. It is located near touristic areas and towns like Gramado, Canela, & Sao Francisco de Paula. Available are crafts, leather goods and chocolates. Don't miss the 'cafe colonial'. There are also thermal waters and mud pools in some hotels and 'Pousadas'. A little more distant, but still in the reach of a car day trip, are Caxias do Sul, Garibaldi and Bento Goncalves, with a prevalence of Italian colonization. Wines and grapes are famous there.
