Photos and Description of the Annapolis vacation house rental
3 Bedrooms - 2.5+ Baths - (Sleeps 6-9)

Pure Magic! You'll wake to the sound of church bells ringing from St. Mary's, ships horns as they depart from City Dock and horses hooves as they pull carriages through the charming historic streets of Annapolis. This luxuriously decorated historic home was built in 1832 and has been fully renovated to bring out its original charm. Situated only one block from Main Street in downtown Annapolis, it is conveniently located to give you instant access to sightseeing, shopping, restaurants and bars. City Dock, at the bottom of the block, boasts commanding views of the Chesapeake, sail and motor boats of all sizes, and people watching galore! Its close proximity to St. Mary's, St. Anne's, First Presbyterian and the Naval Academy Chapel makes it ideal for wedding parties and guests.

Original heart-of-pine wood floors are located throughout the home, graced by many beautiful rugs. The fully renovated gourmet kitchen makes cooking and entertaining an absolute pleasure if you are so inclined, and don't forget to enjoy a glass of wine and perhaps a cigar as you sit by the fire-pit on the back patio. The local Farmers Market (at the bottom of the block) on Sundays will provide you with fresh, organic veggies, meats and breads from May through late-Nov. As winter approaches, cozy up in front of the wood-burning fireplace with a book from the fully stocked shelves located throughout the house. Enjoy Fall Festivals, Ghost Tours, Naval Academy football and of course, the world-famous Annapolis Boat Show. Entertaining is an absolute pleasure in this home - the multi-room high-quality sound system gives the house a warm, comfortable atmosphere year-round.

If your vacation includes work, settle down at the computer in the office/library. It has high-speed internet, also available wirelessly if you prefer to use your personal computer. The office has an operational gas fireplace for added ambiance.

The home sleeps six comfortably in two queen beds and one full bed. The couch in the living room is also a very comfortable single bed alternative, and a queen-sized air mattress is available upon request.

Free passes are provided for on-street parking, as well as local maps, and nearby restaurant menus. If you have any special requirements or requests, I'll do my best to facilitate!

Both the home and Annapolis have something incredible to offer...all year long. This home is ideal for family gatherings, wedding parties, 'girls weekends', football season, Graduation, and sailing races!

The Maryland State Capital, Governors Mansion, Naval Academy and Navy-Marine Corp Stadium are all easily within walking distance...most within just five minutes. Baltimore (30 minutes) and Washington D.C. (45 minutes) also have a tremendous amount to offer during your time here - it's the perfect central location. METRO access (New Carrollton Station) is 20 minutes away and connects to AMTRAK as well.

Naval academy wedding weekend

4 of 5
Submitted: May 9, 2013 Stayed: April 2013
Six of us (3 couples) recently stayed in this home for a Naval Academy wedding weekend. Annapolis is a beautiful place this time of year, and we really enjoyed the location of this home. It was just a 3 minute walk down to the center of downtown Annapolis- you really couldn't find a more centralized location. Correspondence with Bobbi was very easy; she responded quickly and it was clear that she had experience renting this vacation home in the past. All questions were answered before I even needed to ask with her "welcome packet." Arriving and checking-in was easy even though we got there on a day when Bobbi, herself, was not able to physically be there.

One piece of information that I feel would be valuable to future guests is this: some vacation homes are purely rental homes with empty closets and no real evidence of the place being "lived in." This home is not one of those; it feels more like you're a guest in someone's house or borrowing a friend's home for the weekend. If that's not something that you're comfortable with, then this place is not the rental home for you.

The place was comfortable for 3 couples, though the 3rd floor double bed room is not really suitable for a tall person. The kitchen counter was our favorite area for gathering and chatting, but the outside area and the living room were good gathering areas too. All in all, I would say that this was a positive experience; however, in the future, we will more likely stay in more rental-exclusive properties as we expect any vacation rental to meet hotel standards of cleanliness and atmosphere.

This is my second stay at this house. First time was during the summer of 2011, and now, during the winter 2012. Each time we stayed around 45 days in the house. Besides all the good things you will find there (excellent air conditioning and heating systems, fully equipped and modern kitchen, high quality linen and towels, beautiful and good taste furniture and decoration, all electric and electronic equipment, house conservation - it is from 1832!!!), you will have super good feeling that I cannot explain well. Hypothesis: a. located in the middle of historic downtown Old Annapolis, b. the house does not seems just a "rental house" what makes you feel at your home, c. the owner is one of the best landlords ever, being such nice type of "old style" American (everything should be right and proper, and good for both parties!!). I think all these things together make the house a perfect stay for someone looking for lifestyle in Maryland when working or vacationing. The house is near (by car) from shopping malls, fine foods groceries, wine shops, Washington D.C. (40 min). It has been my best experience in HomeAway, among several other good ones. My family (wife and daughters) loves the house so much that they claim it to be "our house"...

Second Time Around

5 of 5
Submitted: December 4, 2012 Stayed: November 2012
This is our second stay at this VRBO. Both times were to accommodate family reunions/ gatherings in a location that was fun for everyone. This charming house, the well equipped kitchen, historic Annapolis and a responsive owner were once again available to us. Our first experience here was a summer one. We had a baby shower and accommodated 3 mothers and 2 babies. This time we had 6 people in 4 bedrooms and a fire for Thanksgiving. Fourteen of us gathered for a feast. A festive downtown was at our doorstep to walk at our leisure. And yes, we will gather here again when the next reunion rolls around.

Charming Historic House in DT Annapolis

5 of 5
Submitted: November 16, 2012 Stayed: November 2012
My Fiancee (now wife) and I were planning for our wedding and one of the last details we had trouble resolving was finding a place we wanted to stay for our wedding weekend that would also accommodate all the bridesmaids and mothers getting ready the day of. We emailed every bed and breakfast and all the hotels in Annapolis. All the hotels were way overpriced and didn't have availability of a very large room as the delegates apparently scooped up all the big suites. The Bed and Breakfasts were not overly responsive in getting back to us. We came across a listing for this house online and contacted the owner. She gave us a tour and we knew right away it was perfect. It was large enough that we had both of my wife's sisters and significant others stay the whole weekend with us (3 bedrooms plus an office that had this giant inflatable bed in it). There was plenty of space for the girls to get hair and makeup done. The beds were very comfortable. It had neat trinkets and paintings all over the house and you felt like you were staying in a renovated colonial house. It just felt very cozy. The location cannot be beat as you walk out the door and DT Annapolis is 15 steps away. The house came with everything...sheets, dishes, coffee pot. We didn't have to bring anything. Dealing with the owner was the best part. She was really friendly, she was responsive to emails, she was flexible with the check in and check out times, she was very responsive when we realized we had left a few items behind by accident (my favorite pillow). Much better than dealing with the rude people from the Loews Hotel.

We rented the house for a USNA reunion for three couples. Its convenient location meant we could park our cars and walk to most everything whether the Naval Academy or the Loews Hotel. We enjoyed being able to eat in on occasion ( the kitchen was well appointed ) or the convenience of dining out in one of the many nearby locations. We would stay again if the opportunity presented itself.
