ADORABLE ,FULLY REMODELED, HISTORIC 1928 beach/urban North Beach Artist's Upstairs Loft shows pride of ownership and is very clean and well maintained. It is one of the very first buildings built in San Clemente!!!! We have lovingly restored her and she is a gem!

We offer a charming one-bdrm. w/1 really comfy back deck off kitchen that is my favorite spot in the morning with my latte and book. We have cocktails there in the evenings when we are lucky enough to visit our little piece of paradise! Our outdoor living area off the living room is a great place to dine or hang out in the outdoor lounge area with a glass of wine. It has a private entry, a full Spanish tiled kitchen, and one full bath w/tub-shower combo.It has a 'Jacuzzi' jetted tub, Spanish tile, and a hand painted sink. We also have a shared GARAGE with downstairs apt. (for mid size or smaller cars. It is VERY subjective as we have had a van and a BMW in the garage at the same time. Vehicles can be staggered quite nicely.

It is our downstairs garden unit..it is smaller, less money, but it doesn't skimp on style or comfort! ....Both have privacy, own entrances, indoor laundry facilities, patios..... Only thing shared is the garage!

_We purchased our building in 2006 and she was in sad disrepair We recognized her potential to bring her back to her Spanish 1920's Ole Hanson style and charm.... We took it a step further and updated her with modern amenities, new windows, heating, air units, plumbing, wiring, appliances, refinished original hardwood floors, new bath, new decks, kitchen...... On and on. She still retains her uniqueness! Old doorknobs, 'moon' ceiling in living room, funny out - of- commission outlets that our plumbers scratch their heads..... She was one of the very first homes in North Beach and had a full open ocean view at the time. She was the only home on El Camino Real at the time.As time went on she lost her view as development grew, the alley was put in which extends the length of the beachside of San Clemente. It is now interspersed with commercial, retail, eateries, homes, high end condos, little apartments, coffee cafe, flower shop, vet, tire store, car wash, Ichibieri's sushi, Rider's Club amazing burgers, beach trail, taco restaurant , bike rentals, surfboard shops we love It is quirky, fun, and your typical old style beach location !!! My name is jeff M lewis and I am a professional photographer and artist. I have studios in three different states and vacation rentals at those locations. In San Clemente, CA my studio is in the same 1929 building our Vacation Rental. My works are displayed and sold at several Galleries in California, Idaho and Colorado. Disney Resorts commissioned me to produce several large works for their Paradise Pier Resort next to the original Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA. The new Sheraton Resort in Carlsbad, CA commissioned a work for their beautiful new ocean view lobby next door to LegoLand USA.

San Clemente is an artist's dream. It is a great little beach town!!

My wife, Debbie, is an interior designer and owns her business, Off the Beaten Path Interior Design. She specailizes in high end interior looks $$$$$$$ for any size budget. She has created her business on the premise of creating high end designs using expensive pieces purchased very inexpensively. She has built a reputation for saving her client's $$$$$ while giving them the quality and look they wanted.

We are inspired by the beach and the life style of San Clemente. It is unique and special.............. There is no other Southern Ca. beach town like it.... friendly, laid back, and full of charm of the 1920's Spanish Revival Style!!!

Why JEFF LEWIS, DEB LEWIS, chose San Clemente

Just a fabulous little hamlet by the ocean. Not pretentious and very laid back. This is not your typical 'OC'. A short stroll to the famous Ole Hansen pool/community center. Another longer stroll from North beach around the corner on the new Beach Walk Trail to the Pier and then up Del Mar to downtown. Many new wonderful restaurants and shops. Equal distance to downtown LA and downtown San Diego. Just does not get any better if you want to chill at the beach.

What makes this condo unique

Sun, surf, sunsets, fine dining, a zillion places to go and things to see from LA to San Diego. It will take many, many vacations here to experience just a fraction of what is available along the different Pacific Ocean and slightly inland communities of Southern California. San Clemente is right in the middle of it all without all the fanfare of Newport Beach, Marina Del Ray or Malibu.

I stayed here for 5 weeks and the Lewis's went out of their way to accomodate my very last minute stay. They had flowers and wine for me. They were really nice and helpful.

The loft was so close to the beach and my workplace. It was really decorated in a beach/ colorful/ and tasteful way. They had great bedding and I used the decks the entire stay! I had my bike, went on runs on the trail, brought my surfboards.

Thanks for your patience and graciousness.

Perfect recovery at the beach and so many new memories.

My husband and I needed a place to stay after my back surgery. I looked high and low and we decided this Loft would be perfect ...and it was!
Location, location, location ... It is exactly as they write and show in the pictures. We loved the patios and our daily walks by the beach were amazing. Jeff and Deb went out of their way to answer our questions and help us with any extra requests. We will look forward to renting this Loft again to create more memories and fun in this location. Thank you for a perfect month.

Lovely, restful little place so close to the beach!

My husband, college-age son, and I absolutely loved our stay here! This place is truly a little gem. Tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and with all the amenities one would want. A charming place; the pictures on the site reflect this well. We spent so much time on the front deck--so relaxing. BTW, the bed is incredibly comfortable and our son slept well on the fold out couch in the living room. The owners are very responsive. The beach is truly a two-minute walk away and the beach trail is a great way to get to the pier. We walked down to nearby restaurants as well. We would wholeheartedly recommend this property to friends and hope to stay here when we return to the area again.

Eclectic apartment in San Clemente

We had a wonderful stay in San Clemente. This place was a great home base. It's cute and beachy without being garish.

It's just a couple of blocks from the North Beach. The beach is a little rocky but there is a soft sand bottom in the water. There were good bodysurfing waves when we were there. Good surfing waves were at the pier. When we were at North Beach there was a small trench parallel to the shore so there was a dip that happened when we walked in about knee high. Something to look out for with small kids.

We walked to the pier in the mornings and loved the vibe on the trail/boardwalk. Everyone from serious runners, moms with strollers, to friends strolling by the sea.

The apartment is located in a business area. It didn't impact us or bother us but it might be an issue for some. Look at street view on Google Maps to see what it's like before booking. The garage was nice and our Volvo fit fine. We loaded and unloaded the fam in the alley before parking.

The bed and coaches were comfy. There was plenty of closet space and washer & dryer came in handy. Enjoyed the decks. They added living space.

No place is perfect so there were a few negatives. Nothing that lowered the stars but things I noticed: The AC is window units so it was noisy but appreciated the cool air on hot days. The bathroom windows are next to both AC units so it's really loud. The jacuzzi tub is nice but the sides are really high which was fine for us but would be an issue for my mom.

We hit a few local towns for bike riding, surfing, shopping: Dana Point, San Juan Cap, and Laguna Beach. All so close by.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and vacation. We'd recommend this cute, eclectic place.

Exceeded our expectations. We enjoy staying in CA and decided to venture out. Did our research to find this property in San Clemente. It was 1.5 miles to a great Pilates studio, a feature not mentioned in the owner's review. The owner's were in downstairs for a few days of our first visit. They were so helpful in getting us up to speed on San Clemente. The pictures and description are spot on. We arrive to a clean and well-maintained VRBO. We would highly recommend this property to friends. We more often then not, walked to dinner. As others have mentioned, the kitchen is well stocked. The garage is a good feature. garage.

This neighborhood provides it. Before purchasing our building we lived in a gated community of 5 unit condo overlooking the water...... We were locked into high owner's association fees, everyone lived on top of each other to share the view. We had the opportunity to purchase our historic CASA Tortuga and threw caution to the wind.
