Best of Both Worlds:
The Cayman Kai/Rum Pt side of the Island offers pure tropical relaxation, while 7 Mile Beach tends to be much more ' Commercial' ( crowded, louder, etc..). Kaibo Condos are one of the most popular areas to stay on the island due to the convenience of being down the street from Rum Pt Beach, Lovers Cove, a short drive to 4 very popular restaurant/bars- ie- Kaibo Yacht Club ( upstairs recently rated 5 stars), Rum Pt restaurant ( just opened), The Lighthouse ( one of the Islands Best- a must try), Over The Edge ( built right on the water- great breakfast, lunch, drinks). Also, the new Kaibo Express On Demand Water Taxi, can take you virtually anywhere on the island ( including popular areas of 7 Mile Beach- 10 minute ride), leaving from right next door at The Kaibo Yacht Club. Extremely convenient way to get across town for more action, nightlife, shopping, golf, etc... Many credible Realtors will highly endorse Kaibo Condos, as one of the most desirable areas to stay on the island.
Caveat to Renters:
Beware of other advertised Beach front properties that look beautiful in pictuires, but in reality, are ' older ' units, on beaches with unswimmable waters ( sea urchins, sharp coral in shallow waters, turtle grass, etc..), unwalkable beaches ( sharp coral and shells), and exposed to gusty obnoxious winds, on some days. Also, some of these complexes are quite a ways, from areas such as Kaibo and Rum Pt, where you will likely end up going anyway. To the contrary, Kaibo offers newer cleaner condos, relaxing nice breeze beaches, either private ( at Kaibo) or public, right down the street, at Rum Pt, where waters are clear, swimmable ( great snorkeling), walkable, and there are the conveniences of wave runners, hourly boats to Sting Ray City, sailing, great food/drinks, and total relaxation.
