Located a five minute walk from the Icicle River and a 5 minute drive from the shopping and restaurants of Leavenworth, my country home is ideal for a weekend getaway or for a week of adventuring. Spend your summer days golfing, rafting, enjoying your favorite activities, your evenings barbecuing on the lawn and enjoying the wildlife that crosses our woods on their way to the river. Spend your winter days cross-country or alpine skiing and return to the beauty and warmth of a crackling fire. Available year round, beautiful in every season, my home comfortably sleeps 8-10. Smaller groups will want to stay upstairs where there are 2 queen beds. Listed rates are for the upstairs house only. Larger family groups will want to rent the basement apartment for an additional $100 per night which will add another two bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower, and a second full kitchen. Most pets welcomed. Please contact me. No smoking in the house.

Location: Located at the base of the mountains, this quiet country home is within walking distance of both the Icicle River and the Icicle Ridge Trail-head. Summer hikers and backpackers headed for the Cascade Wilderness Area can reach several trail-heads within a ten mile distance. Rafting enthusiasts will find Osprey Rafting Co. on Icicle Road, about a mile from the house. For those seeking the shops and restaurants of Leavenworth, the town is minutes away by car, or, if you're traveling with bikes, it is an easy one and a half mile ride--and you don't have to worry about parking.

The Home: Situated on a five-acre lot, the home is surrounded by lawns and wooded areas. I have fond memories of summer gatherings where we would barbecue, play croquet, and, as twilight deepened, visit quietly and watch for deer making their way to the river. As summer gave way to winter, we would move indoors, and the fireplace would become the central focus. On snowy evening, we would gather with family and friends, make popcorn over a cracking fire, perhaps play a board game. An old-fashioned wire popcorn popper sits next to the fireplace, always ready to be used.

Special Considerations: The spacious grounds make this an ideal location for a family gathering. We can accommodate both RVs and tents at a modest additional cost.

My husband and I spent a week mid-September 2008 in this house. We had a wonderful time.

The location is great. It is close enough to Leavenworth that you can go downtown easily (driving is about five minutes; you can walk the two miles easily), but when you're at the house you don't feel the touristy aspects of the town. Hikes and bike rides can be started right from the door or a few miles up the road.

The property was very clean and well-maintained. It was comfortable and had everything a vacation renter needs, including the details like clothes detergent, extra garbage bags, coffee filter papers, etc., etc.

A very nice, helpful property manager lives in a building on the same premises.

The owner is great. She responded promptly and flexibly to all of my messages and requests.

I would highly recommend this property to a friend who wants a house in the country as a base for the abundant outdoor opportunities available in the area. However, the emphasis on physical activities is mine -- other people may wish to stay here just to relax and enjoy the fabulous scenery. I don't know that exploring the town of Leavenworth would take anyone more than a day. But the fact that it's a tourist attraction means the amenities (e.g., grocery stores) are good for a town this size.

Home Away from Home!

Thank you for welcoming our troop of Girl Scouts! The girls worked hard this year to sell enough cookies to plan and enjoy this weekend of biking, touring and shopping! Everyone felt like it was our "home away from home!" Everything we wanted/needed was right there! The home was spotless with plenty of room and very comfy beds! It was much more convenient and less expensive than a hotel! We also felt much safer! The girls will always remember our weekend of biking and their hero, Logan, a Leavenworth firefighter! When one girl's lock malfunctioned and couldn't be unlocked, Logan came to the rescue with just the right tools! (He even posed for pictures!) We had a wonderful evening eating pizza, playing games inside and out, and we even watched a movie! Thank you for your contribution to the great memories these girls will cherish of scouting! We all hope to return soon!

Thank you for the wonderful weekend! We were so pleased with your home. We hadn't rented before through any website and were thrilled when we walked in the door. It was everything promised and more! The neighbors were very friendly and the location is perfect. We've already booked again.
