A cozy modern log cabin nestled in the hills of the Berkshires in a large wooded area with landscaped yard and fishpond. The house is a newly built two floor log cabin with all the comforts of home. Inside is a full service kitchen and a great-room with dining and lounging spaces. You can relax and enjoy a full entertainment center with furnished recorded music and movies. Bedrooms and baths are on both the 1st and 2nd floors. There is a large wood burning fireplace with plenty of firewood. Outside you can enjoy the sounds of the Green River, which is just off the large deck that hosts a chimenia, to take off the chill of the evening and/or morning, and a complete charcoal BBQ including charcoal. For those new to the Berkshires, it is the home of “Summer Stock” theatre (Williamstown, Jacobs Pillow, Tanglewood), Norman Rockwell’s home and museum, and Lenox china, just to name a few. Every season offers great things for the individual, couple or family.

  • The second floor bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. It also has a closet where bath towels, paper towels, facial tissues, toilet paper, etc. are stored. There is plenty of room for storage of other items as needed. The 1st floor bathroom includes a tub with shower, toilet and sink.

Notes: The high chair and folding chairs are stored in the basement, which is accessible from inside via stairs across from 1st floor bathroom. The basement is also accessible from the outside via a Bilco-type door that is secured on the inside. There is a locked room in the basement that is Not! for renters use. When away for the day, it is requested that the thermostats (both 1st & 2nd floors) be set-back to conserve oil . To use the telephone for long distance calls, you will need to use a a phone card or credit card. The phone is available for all local New York calls. Four-wheeled vehicles are recommended during winter months. If your car should get stuck in the snow when trying to get out of the driveway, there are strap-on chains in the basement. Attempts will be made to keep the driveway, stairs and deck clear of snow & ice. A phone number will be provided should you need snow removed or plowed. He can also help if you get stuck.

What a wonderful place to get away. The cabin is decorated beautifully and has everything you need for peace and tranquility.A place to enjoy each other and nature. We had a great time and am looking forward to going again.

Family Cabin, just like home

We stayed at Hill House ,Aug. 19-24/2008. My daughter and son both enjoyed themselves as did our little dogs. We walked down to the river daily . Also we had the opportunity to meet Tom's next door neighbor and his collies.

My son enjoyed watching your collection of movies & fires in the fire place. I enjoyed the kitchen , I found everything necessary any time I cooked. My daughter had a great time doing a jigsaw puzzle with me and reading.

All in all a good time was had by all of us and we hope to rreturn this August.

Beautiful hideaway!

We just returned from the North Hillsdale cabin 3 days ago. What a relaxing vacation! The location of the cabin is very secluded and next to a river that you can hear inside and outside the cabin. We live and work just north of Houston and was looking forward to getting away and this was just the place. It isn't too far from I-90 to get to Albany or Boston and there are several things to see and do locally. A great get away from the big city life that I would highly recommend to anyone!

This is the place to go when you need a break from life. The charming decor and atmosphere makes you feel at home immediatley. It's so cozy and peaceful I can;t wait to get away again!

Cozy Cabin

This is a beautiful cabin - lovely decor and comfortable furniture. I was there in a snowstorm and it could not have been cozier to sit by the fire and look out into the trees. The kitchen is well-equipped and the house was very clean with everything we needed for the week.
