Thomas W. Gilbert purchased this cabin in 2002
My wife and I had it built for us and our family to use as a place to get away and relax.

What a wonderful place to get away. The cabin is decorated beautifully and has everything you need for peace and tranquility.A place to enjoy each other and nature. We had a great time and am looking forward to going again.
This place is amazing! The house is beautiful, clean, full of details that make it unique. You can see that it has a soul. Tom was very accommodating, I HAD NO REASON TO CALL HIM SINCE EVERYTHING WAS IN ORDER AND IN THE SAID PLACE MENTIONED IN AGREEMENT. The nature around the house is amazing very quite, All of the beds are comfortable and big enough for adults. We also enjoyed the river that runs down the hill (the water was so clean and refreshing!), Our stay was wonderful and I would recommend this place to everybody without a shadow of a doubt! our family was well pleased.
looking forward to visiting again soon. Thanks again, Tom!
A lovely, peaceful retreat with room for all to be together or off alone in the yard or on the deck.. Well equipped for cooking and plenty of games for young children. Tom, the owner, is very responsive to emails and makes his home quite welcoming.
You will love your time here. It is secluded, yet convenient to all the area attractions. The owner is particularly gracious
We had a wonderful getaway in your beautiful house. It felt like our mountain house. That's how cozy it was. I was initially worried that there was no air conditioning but as Tom said, the temperature was perfect! My boys and dog loved the river running behind the property. It was a great location in the Berkshires and we would love to come back!
My wife and two girls, 6 & 4 stayed here for 5 days. We loved it. It's proximity to Great Barrington is nice and we also went for a quick ride to Prospect Lake where we rented a canoe and caught fish after fish. My girls loved the action. The house is itself is warm and rustic, with all the modern amenities you'll need. We enjoyed painting projects on the deck, catching and releasing the frog in the fish pond about 20 times (we were gentle!) and my oldest daughter and I especially liked putting our suits on and taking a dip in the Green River just below the house. We roasted marshmallows in the outdoor potbelly stove and enjoyed the indoor fireplace as well. We also had a some tasty meals cooked on the porch barbecue. Many little adventures to be had without leaving the grounds, and endless larger outings easily accessed by car. The bottle of wine and cookies were a nice touch on our arrival, and Tom was good enough to mail us a few items we accidentally left behind.
The owner built this house and the care that went into it is evident and was fully enjoyed by my family. Book it! We'll definitely be back.
