This beautiful private home, fully remodeled and redecorated in 2007, welcomes you to the vintage East Movie Colony (Formerly Ruth Hardy Park) area of Palm Springs. The private hideaway has a fully-fenced back yard with a beautiful, new flagstone perimeter pool and spa, and gas barbeque. The yard and entertaining area are well lit and crowned by numerous grapefruit, lime and lemon trees with extensive plush, well manicured lawn and gardens.
Inside, the fully furnished, gourmet kitchen includes new, top-of the-line appliances with bar-style seating for the cook's helpers. Premium granite enhances the countertops as well as the fireplace. The living room overlooks the backyard pool and spa. The Master suite is furnished with a king bed. The generously-proportioned 2nd bedroom includes a queen bed. Minutes from the airport, downtown Palm Springs shopping, and restaurants.
I purchased my home on Pasatiempo to be able to enjoy the relaxing lifestyle of Palm Springs, to briefly escape the cold winters of Minnesota or just to come out periodically during the rest of the year with friends.
Ray purchased this house in 2011
East Movie Colony (Ruth Hardy Park) is an area with very nice homes, close to downtown and airport, great mountain views and Ruth Hardy Park!
The pool and hot tub are beautiful day and night with mountain views and quiet neighborhood. Most of the entertaining I do is out in the backyard. There is a shaded patio and open patio surrounded by well manicured landscaping. It is great to just lay out, dine outside or just read a good book.
This home is clean and well maintained. The neighborhood is quiet. The kitchen is modern and well stocked. Just buy some groceries and beverages and you are all set. Gas fireplace in the living room for cooler desert evenings. Backyard has nice pool and spa with privacy. Very relaxing stay. This is our 3rd visit and we're booked for next year, too.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the house was prefect. Very functional, great pool and garden, with lots of California sunshine. The grapefruit and lemon trees were a treat. Great location, very private and quiet. Ray was great to deal with, making the whole booking process seamless. Would definitely stay there again.
My wife and I stayed for a week in April 2014 and wished it had been longer almost as soon as we arrived. Our 4th visit to Palm Springs, but first time at this property. Superb accommodation, both inside and out. We spent most of our time sitting by the pool or in it. Property is in great condition and well maintained. Owner was very helpful and booking process was very easy. Enjoyed watching the humming birds on their daily visits and the doves who enjoyed drinking from the spa overflow. The grapefruit from the tree are simply amazing, especially when chilled overnight. My wife and I hope to make a return visit to this home next year. We would 100% recommend this property.
My wife and I stayed here for a week with another couple. The house is perfect for four, the yard and pool and spa are tremendous. Everything we needed to see and do was very close by. Ray was very flexible and accommodating to deal with. I would recommend this house very highly.
My wife and I and our 4 year old daughter stayed during our Spring break. First off, the pictures and posting do not do this place justice. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The kitchen is awesome and stocked with everything you need. It is a great room layout so great place to hang out between kitchen, living room and patio. The backyard and pool are so inviting and make you not want to leave. In fact, we had a list of activities to do while we were in PS and we hardly did any of them. That is because we enjoyed just hanging out at the pool and the house. Oh, and a nice bonus was that I had fresh squeezed grapefruit juice every day we were there straight from the grapefruit trees in the backyard. The location is great! You are a short drive to central Palms Springs and a short walk to Ruth Hardy Park. Ray, the owner was awesome to work with. He was so responsive in getting us set up for our trip and spent a lot of time on the phone as a PS tour guide. He also checked in with us after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed.
We can't wait until our next trip to PS and will look no further than staying here!
My husband and I, with our young adult daughter, rented this home to attend a local family reunion. It was perfect! The house is lovely, well equipped and conveniently located. The backyard pool and hot tub/spa are marvelous for daytime and late evening relaxing. The pool is extremely private because of enclosing walls, but still allows mountain views. Breakfast on the terrace was a ritual greatly enhanced by the fresh (pick and eat) grapefruit hanging from the private tree! And while I don't usually bake on vacation, the lemon tree had me happily making lemon bars. What a treat. Ray was easy to communicate with, gave us all necessary information and responded quickly to email queries. I'd come back in a heartbeat!
