My husband and I just returned from spending a fabulous week on St. John and at the "Romance Cottage". From the moment I saw the listing on Homeaway.com, I knew that this would be the perfect place to stay at while there. The cottage was clean, neat, bright, and had every ammenity that we needed. The deck is perfect for enjoying a cocktail or bbq-ing, all the while looking at the beautiful Caribbean waters. Waking up each day to the beautiful skies, comfortable breeze, roosters, goats, donkeys, geccos, frogs, iguanas, and sheep, made each day another day away from the office and hectic schedules. Jay and Mary (who live right next door) were the perfect people to rent from. They are friendly, hospitable, and knowledgeable. Mary baked us delicious muffins, and shared bananas from the trees. The cottage is suitable for 2 people. There is tv w/ satellite, ISymphony, great sized bathroom, good sized kitchen, and full fridge w freezer. Mary and Jay provided us w/ a cooler, beach chairs, and beach towels for our days in the sun. The cottage is located on the opposite side of the island from the port. It is away from it ALL! If you want seclusion, peace and quiet, and a very laid back atmosphere, the cottage is the place to stay. We were very happy with our stay at the cottage and would highly recommend it! If it is available for rent when we return to St. John, we would love to stay there again!
