So Much to See and Do!: Port Aransas holds much to see and do! Port A hosts many fishing tournaments, as well as a sandcastle competition that is nothing short of astounding! Whether you like to mosey about, or bicycle everywhere, your entertainment needs will be met. Spend some time strolling along the shore holding hands or beachcombing. Since you can bring your pooch- bring the dog and the frisbee to the beach with you. Ride the bicycle down to the University Marine Science Center or over to the local library to check out some videos. Or head out the front door turn to your right and walk over to the homemade fudge shoppe. Gosh, you could just relax in the porch swing with your morning coffee and watch the hummingbirds dart in and out of the cape honeysuckle. Relax in the hammock in the shade with a cool beverage and sway with the palm trees. Come nightfall don't forget Port A does not have the big city light pollution so many of us have grown accustomed to - The stars are magnificent!

Port A is home to many fishing tournaments as well as the Infamous Sandcastle Contest! The University of Texas Marine Research Center is located in town as well. The beaches around Port A are also the nesting grounds of Ridley's sea turtles. Classes are also available year round at the Art Center. Surfing and wind surfing instructors would love to hear from you as well. There is no shortage of fishing charters, and dolphin watch tours are a favorite! So much to do!

I have stayed in LOTS of these sort of vacation rentals. This one is one of the best. Tons of room. Really cute. Clean. Cleverly decorated. That outside yard with the trees and plants really makes you feel like you're in your own little hideaway. Every amenity listed is right on target. Really great rental. Great experience. Will visit again.

Needed a quiet getaway ...Not a beach person, I usually seek a cabin in hills/mountains far from civilization, but heard Paula's place was available when I needed it. I am a convert! Everything about the house was a delight! I've heard of the gift of hospitality - but this house welcomes a person like the perfect hostess - fresh, colorful, perfect combo of cool and warm, inviting but knows how to disappear into the background. Comfortable. Well supplied.Pretty inside and out. And the beach in April was exactly the right amount of people and space and beauty and space and did I mention the feeling of SPACIOUSNESS! Never realized that sand had as many kinds of textures under bare feet - from smooth to damply cool to warm to crunchy. It was lovely under gray skies or blue, sunshine or cloudy moon. I will be back and bring friends/family. OH yeah, I read other lodgers' recommendations for food and the Station Street Grill exceeded high expectations: my favorite - fried shrimp to DIE for!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

perfect- as advertised

1st- the homeowner was easy to contact, helpful and pleasant.
2nd- the setting was beautiful- lush grounds and even though close proximity to town- felt private and secluded- also nice neighborhood.
3rd- accomodations were clean, well laid out, as advertised, plenty cool AC, well stocked kitchen(not always the case at other properties), and user friendly, family friendly... great for couples or families
Cant think of anything we didn't like...
we loved the property, the shopping, Bron's cart rentals was awesome, we always have to eat at Castaways...

Great little house, and the fact that it was pet friendly just pushed it over the top! Blocks to the beach and walking distance to ice-cream (big plus :-) ). We'll definitely be back.

Wonderful vacation home!

This place was absolutely wonderful for our recent vacation to Port Aransas. The house was very clean and had nice, up-to-date furnishings. Unlike some vacation homes, you can tell the owners use this and take good care of it. The kitchen is well stocked and all of the appliances and electronics in the home are very nice. There are plenty of linens for the beds and baths and even some toiletries in case you forgot your own. They really have thought of everything!
One thing that we enjoyed more than we could have imagined was the beautiful and spacious yard. All of the trees and bushes were in full bloom while we were there and the grass was nice and plush. Our 2 and a half year old absolutely LOVED running around in the yard, especially when we put out a sprinkler for her to run through.
All around, this place is very well maintained and we would definitely stay here again over a condo any day. There are neighbors close by, but it feels private because of the landscaping and layout. It's close to the main streets and you could easily walk to the beach if you wanted (unless you're carrying a lot of stuff or have young children). We really enjoyed the Italian food from a restaurant a few blocks away called Seafood and Spaghetti Works. We'd go back there again too!
