3 BR + Loft; 1.5 Baths; Sleeps 5+

Nestled in the woods on the edge of a large meadow, this cozy house offers a winter home in the heart of the Berkshires – just 7 miles from Jiminy Peak. The 3-bedroom, 1.5 bath layout is ideal for five. The main living/dining room features a cathedral ceiling with an indoor swing seat, and is overlooked by a large sleeping loft that easily accommodates extra guests (kids love it!). The house is heated with electric baseboard heaters in each room and a glass-doored pellet stove, like a wood stove, in the main room.

Located on a quiet country road, it shares the 120 acre property and driveway with another house that rents separately. Take beautiful walks up through the quiet winter woods or down to our stream. Toboggan down the hill to our pond, or snow-shoe or cross-country ski on the three meadows. Many downhill and cross-country ski areas are within minutes by car, including Jiminy Peak, and southern Vermont is just a short drive.

The house is just 7 miles from Jiminy Peak, but there is also great skiing, boarding, tubing and lots more special events and activities at nearby Bousqet in Pittsfield, Catamount in Hillsdale and Butternut Basin in Great Barrington. Exceptional cross-country and snowshoeing at Canterbury Farm in Becket - or on our own land.

It's about a 150 mile drive from NYC or Boston, and in addition to local skiing it’s a perfect base for trips to southern Vermont resorts such as Mount Snow, Stratton and Magic Mountain (approx. 55-70 miles).

A great month of healthy family time

We rented the cottage for a month so that we could get our young kids up on skis consistently this winter. Not only did the kids love skiing but they also loved being at "the cottage". It was clean, rustic living where we spent quality time together. The owners were terrific to deal with, it was 10 minutes from Jiminy, and we can't wait to head up there again.
