Location, Location, Location!
Located in the Marais close to Place de la Republique, the apartment sits one half block from the major market street of the neighborhood, rue de Bretagne, as well as one half block from a Metro stop (M8 Filles du Calvaire). Easy walking to Place des Vosges, Musée Picasso, and the heart of the Marais. The apartment was renovated in 2007, and is extremely well kept and well stocked. This is our home away from home and our goal was for it to be comfortable and inviting. The 55 sq. meter apartment is on the third floor(w-elevator), has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. a separate WC, and a private lobby with a standard size washer and dryer. Courtyard and street exposures ensure plenty of light and cross ventilation.
All about the food...
The kitchen is new and modern, with an induction cooktop and oven. Small electrics (coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster) allow you to have a leisurely breakfast before heading off to sightsee. And as a chef, Brad has added kitchen tools that few others would deem “essential”. There are a number of cafés and bistros within walking distance of the apartment. Canvas shopping bags and a map of the vendors we know and like are provided to help make shopping along rue de Bretagne a more simple task.
Thought of most everything...
During our 8 month renovation, we rented apartments near ours on our visits. We noted, in each case, what we thought was missing for a vacationing client. Our amenities reflect our discoveries: ample electrical outlets, hooks throughout to hang jackets/bags/clothing, dim-able overhead lighting, iron/ironing board, and a blow dryer are just a few things we identified. We even try to maintain a supply of travel-sized toiletries that you might forget.
A Guest Services book provides reference for some of the minor challenges of renting an apartment... instructions for using the appliances, heating, etc, as well as some recommendations for local eateries and shops in the neighborhood.

We reside in the San Francisco Bay area. Buying the apartment in Paris really 'just happened'... we always thought we would have a ski house in Tahoe! We are certainly happy that it did.
Jeff is a Director at a Silicon Valley company, and Brad is a pastry chef , wine professional, and teaches culinary skills to children ages 8-16.

We started out buying with another couple... but they are a bit older and were thinking that, after retirement, they would want to spend part of the year there. It was too complicated to try to figure out how to divide the time and costs fairly, so they went out on their own and bought their apartment. Our agent... she is fabulous... kept us on her radar, and found this great, huge old apartment. She divided it into 3 separate units, and we purchased the 2 bedroom unit. We were able to supervise the remodel, and select materials, furnishings, etc. as we went along. It really feels like OUR home.
The location and the neighborhood are ideal... outside of the traffic of the heart of the Marais, yet so close to walk. The apartment is bright and light.. is just feels special. And the neighbors and shopkeepers are wonderful. Both the 10th and 11th Arrondissements are very close, and both going through their own 'gentrification'... which has had the added benefit of bring more new and unique shops and cafés to the immediate area.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (EUR) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.
