Great Location - Not Prepared for Short Visit

Overall, I was happy with this rental. The location was extremely convenient and as close to everything as advertised. The unit rented to me, however, was not the unit pictured in this listing, but another one in the same building. Comfortably furnished, but carpeting instead of hardwood floors and much darker in overall tone.
The rental agent explained that they were just trying out short term rentals and I was there for 6 nights. This was obviously new to them, because several things were missing that would make you feel welcome in a rental condo unit. Namely: 1/4 roll of toilet paper for 2.5 bathrooms, no paper towels or napkins, no toiletries outside of one Softsoap container, no "basics" in the kitchen like salt & pepper, dishwashing liquid, kitchen towel, etc..... Although a 24 hr. Dominion food store was 1/2 block away, I wasn't expecting to have to buy so many basics for my stay on the first night in.
There were two bedrooms, but the one I chose had a clock radio near the bed that wasn't plugged in. I found out that was because you would have had to move the entire bed to do so. Instead, I moved the piece of furniture that the TV was on at the foot of the bed to plug it in. (Maybe not being able to hit the snooze button automatically was a good thing!)
My unit's bay window was directly across from the Flatiron Building but the middle shade was stuck in position, so I couldn't raise or lower it. Most of these things were minor, but they added up to less than a welcoming feeling.
Because of the great location, secure building and comfortable furnishings, I'll give them another try after they've had some more experience with short termers under their belts.
