Amazing views from every window

We stayed here for the 2010 Olympics and had a week of spectacular weather and a week of the snow/rain mix. This house is comfortable and well equipped from espresso maker to gas grill!! We were able to ski on the lake and everywhere we turned we were faced with mountains. The view from our bed was incredible!!! Our son and a friend skied two days at Whistler/ Blackcomb and raved about the bowls and runs from the top.
Everyone we met in Whistler was gracious and helpful. Jackie was incredibly helpful and her home is tastefully decorated.
And we LOVED the train that went by....added to the Pacific NW experience.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Romantic Getaway

The house is truly beautiful and well equipped, the lake is beautiful, the mountains are beautiful and the summer weather was beautiful. We had a wonderful time, despite the fact that the train woke some of us up at 1:30 in the morning, the septic tank reached its limit so we could not take showers the first morning, and on the last day the lock to the house broke, so that we had to climb up onto the balcony to get in through an unlocked balcony door. However the owners who live in Florida but who have somone local to look after the place were solicitous in trying to get the septic tank pumped out as quickly as possible.

Best Home Yet

We have been coming to Whistler from Australia to ski for 9 years now. We usually spend at least 2 months. So, we always look for something that feels like home not just a hotel room.
This beautiful home was the best yet.
Although it is located across Alta Lake from the village and therefore it is not part of the "action" in the village, the location with its unbelievable view across the lake to Blackcomb and Whistler Mountains as well as the serenity and privacy is just wonderful. In any case, we always hire a car for our long stays and drive from the home we stay at to the Base II car park and so, the drive from the lake house was just a few extra minutes and a very pretty drive each morning/afternoon. There are buses servicing the area to/from the village incl. one into the village around 8.00am and from the village around 4.00pm. However, there are only a few other scheduled services to/from this area and so, for flexibility, we think a car is a must, otherwise taxis would be required. The property is very well maintained and as new and the decor including original pieces of First Nations art is very attractive.
The owners could not have been more charming or helpful. I would say that we had excellent customer service. I would certainly recommend this property to a friend.
There is a train line directly in front of the house between the house and the lake. The trains do blow their whistles which are very noisy. However, strangely, it forms part of the character of the home and there are only one or two trains a day.
The only thing we missed was a hot tub after a day's skiing but we understand that the owners are looking to have one installed which would make the property perfect in our opinion.

We stayed for 5 days on Alta Lake. The beautiful lake house oras we called it the glass house provided beautiful viewsof whistler and blackcomb.The location was great for enjoying all of Whistler and area attractions. The zipline over Fitsimmons Creek in the rainforest was amazing. It was lovely to be able to ride bikes into the village. The kayaking trip on the River of Golden Dreams into Green Lake was a good afternoon adventure. The Duffy Lake Road ( Rogers Pass) was a spectacular drive from Kelowna. The house provided a relaxing space for our family of five. The only disappointment was the climb to the water and the railroad track, though the train was only loud a few times. We decided that was part of the west. Overall a very good experience.
