ABOUT OUR PROPERTY:
Experience a little of old New England. Our VRBO is a charming historic family farmhouse apartment(2100 square feet) with lots of room and comfort surrounded by 22 acres. Built in 1782, our farm was famous for breeding Plymouth Barred Rock chickens. About one hundred years ago, one of these barred rock roosters won the grand prize of $2000.00 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, that’s a lot of cash for the 1800’s! Many other grand prizes were won as well, and thus our rental unit has a built in wall safe that was used back then to hold the winnings (we don’t have the combination to the safe, but we have left a stethoscope there if you would like to try to crack the code.).
Built by the Bradley family, the farm was one of the first and largest dwellings in the area. To this day, the street is named Bradley St.. The river runs through our little valley, which sometimes brings Bald Eagles, Ospreys and Great Blue Herons migrating through. There also is a train track that brings an old fashioned freight train through, and you can even book a ride on the Berkshire Scenic Railway, which runs in the summer and early fall.

Hello Wendy and Tim
Thank you for your email. Our stay with you was wonderful.
Everything was exceptional and comfortable. You made us feel like we were at home with all our conveniences and comforts. Everything was well thought of and we lacked nothing. The rooms were beautifully furnished and we enjoyed using all the rooms, the kitchen, the breakfast nook, the dining room, both the living room and the little enclosed family room. We enjoyed reading about the history of the house which made us more appreciative of it. The views from the windows and the beautiful garden area with the lovely large shaded tree and where we had the opportunity to spot a hawk besides other birds was wonderful. We even had a chance to use the barbecue and spend time of the rocking bench. The binoculars and bird book were a nice touch as well as the umbrellas, very much needed on those rainy days. We thank you for all your kind and prompt assistance whenever we needed to contact you.
We cannot thank you enough for helping to make our stay memorable. We were reluctant to leave. We loved the area and enjoyed exploring.
Hopefully, some day we will be back.

Charming and warm farmhouse where my family and I congregated from around the globe to spend Christmas together. We had a Blast!! Loved watching the birds and horses or just relaxing in the sunroom overlooking a picturesque sun bleached wooden stables and barn. Right attractions like Kripalu, where we had a very relaxing day, and Local theater if you like a good play, which we did. Tanglewood was closed but lovely lenox is right near buy.
The owners were lovely, letting us in when we locked ourselves out and also returning our full deposit despite accidentally breaking a small window on the front door.
I would deffinitly stay here again and I know my wife, sisters, and mother will be thinking of this trip for years & years to come.
The only critique was that the railing on the top floor overlooking the stairs was very low and For that reason I wouldn't recommend this location for families with small children.
Our family had a wonderful holiday winter week at Golden Hill Farm house! The house easily accommodated our family of 5 adults, the kitchen was well stocked, the bedrooms comfortable and the setting restful. The house was well heated so as outside temperatures dropped we remained cozy inside. Although we were there 'off-season' there were still things to do close by. We enjoyed a day a Kripalu, theatre at Shakespeare and Co. and movies in Pittsfield. We liked the farmhouse so much we ended up preparing our own meals more than we had planned. Wendy and Tim are a pleasure to book with and nice to have nearby should help be needed. The farmhouse is so well built you can't hear anything at all. We all look forward to another stay next year.
For the second year, my childhood friends and I have stayed for a weekend at the Golden Hill Farm house and we are already planning our return for next year!
This large house is perfect for our group of six with a well stocked kitchen, large dining table, and comfortable beds. Peaceful views out the window, birds, chickens, horses...
The house is a short distance from great dining in Lenox, outlets in Lee, and New England charm in Great Barrington.
Wendy and Tim are a pleasure to book with. Would recommend this house without reservation!
This house had everything one would need for an extended stay. It felt like our own home, except the views were better. We loved getting up in the morning to see the horses and chickens. The house was immaculate and beautifully equipped and the owners friendly and accommodating. We hope to stay there again.
Our family had a lovely stay at the farm this summer. The house was spacious, had everything we needed and stayed cool in the summer heat.
The plantings outside are beautiful and it's a treat to go to the farm and see the horses and chickens.
The only thing that takes away from the bucolic setting is that the home sits close to the street so you can see/hear the cars go by.
If we visit the Berkshires again, I would return to Golden Hill farm. It was lovely and the hosts were very helpful.
As an avid skier group, we have rented numerous weekend houses in Massachusettes and Pennsylvania and this is one of the best rental houses that we have stayed at. A charming house with equally charming hosts, we found the house easy to find and loaded with all the amenities one would need to have a enjoyable stay. The kids really enjoyed seeing the horses and bird watching right outside the kitchen window. Close to Jiminy Peak Ski Resort and just a few minutes away from Lee Premium outlets made this location ideal.
We plan to be back very soon!
