This condo had much potential. Unfortunately it was a complete disapointment. The condo had dirty carpets, dirty bathrooms, dirty refrigerator, and dirty dishes (mold in the blender). Owners seemed sincere in wanting to make it up to us and they tried but not enough to make us want to come back. Unfortunately my vacation which was suppossed to be stress free and full of happy memories was everything but that. I'm still waiting for my cleaning fee to be returned as promised.
Owner's Response: Unfortunately, I'm afraid there is some actual truth in the above review. We discovered that our housekeeper had sent someone in her place to clean our condo, and they did a poor job. (That person was immediately fired after this incident.)
We responded immediately to our guests' phone call, arriving there within approximately 45 minutes. We cleaned the problem areas ourselves, supposedly to the guests' satisfaction. They even admitted in their review, "owners seemed sincere in wanting to make it up to us and they tried."
We soon learned, however, that these particular guests would devote the rest of their stay to inspecting every inch of the condo for flaws. (Stripping the duvet covers off of the comforter looking for a stain - on the inside, checking the tops of cabinets for dust, etc.) The complaints finally ended after they allowed the teenage daughter to use a flat iron to fix her hair in our living room and lay the hot iron on our coffee table - - shattering the glass top.
Even so, they continued to try and get more refunds from us - even as late as 5 months later. (You will notice that they didn't post a review until nearly a year after their stay - when we stopped answering their phone calls.)
We gladly and apologetically addressed every single complaint from these guests as soon as we were made aware, and we generously compensated them for their inconvenience. That's all anyone could do.
This is the only negative review we have ever received. We only live 90 minutes away, which enables us to work diligently to repair, update, and improve our condo to ensure that our guests have a wonderful experience. We have an onsite handyman for unforeseen repairs, a carpet man who comes immediately to clean any new stains, and a son who lives 20 minutes away to address any other concerns.
My husband and I strive always to treat others as we wish to be treated and to make our guests feel completely at home. We'd love to have you as our guests so that you can try out our hospitality for yourselves.
