Roundhouse on Lake Coeur d' Alene:
Lake Coeur' Alene is one of Idaho's largest lakes. Visitors can actually spend their entire time exploring the lake from the north end where the Roundhouse is located and cruising 35 south to the headwaters of the Coeur d' Alene River and further south to Harrison, ID and St Maries, ID. Scenic drives also offer photo opportunities around the lake. From June until about September, the lake temperature is in the 70'SF, very clear off the end of the dock and most refreshing even for evening swims. Fall and Winter abound with activities in the Lake Coeur d' Alene area. Eagle watching is a favorite viewing pleasure while seated in the living room and looking across the lake. Salmon fishing and the associated derbies take place right off the private beach and dock. The dock is usable during winter months also for the hearty fishing types.
Summer at the Lake:
Activities abound with boating and water sports on the lake. Watercraft (sailboats, motor, sailing, wave runners, kayaks, canoes, etc) rentals, lake cruises and parasailing are only 5 minutes away from the Lake Roundhouse. Or, you can keep your boat (up to 20') and other water toys right on the dock. Mooring whips are available on the dock for good safekeeping of your boat. There is parking on the Roundhouse beach for 2 cars, as well as, parking for many more cars at Lake Steamers Landing - 100' from the Roundhouse beach. There are 19 public golf courses all within 1 to 11/2 hours from the Lake Roundhouse. Free music concerts weekly in the park only 2 miles from Roundhouse. Visitors can spend time on the deck with its 270 degrees view of Lake CDA. From dawn until sunset the view is constantly changing and revealing its natural beauty. Centennial Trail is right below and year around avails jogging, walking, roller blading and exploring. Photo opportunities abound too!
Fall, Winter & Spring at the Lake Roundhouse:
Salmon Fishing Derbies and Eagle Watching are just a couple of the highlights during these seasons. Torchlight parades and tree lighting ceremonies during the holidays, fireworks, music and art walks, Cinco de Mayo and so many events happen in Coeur d' Alene that the best place to check is the Tourist Bureau or the local Chamber of Commerce: Skiing and winter sports including cross country, downhill, snowmobiling, etc keep many visitors busy and having fun. There are 5 major ski areas within 30 minutes up to 1 1/2 hours from the Roundhouse. The famous longest Gondola in the world is only 30 minutes away from the Roundhouse at Silver Mountain in Kellogg, Idaho. Winter driving requires 4 wheel drive vehicles to accommodate private road and icy driving conditions. Fall thru Spring at the Roundhouse provides the Guest Cottage, Loft and the Bunkhouse; accommodations for 6; 3 Queen Beds, and 4 Twins and 1 Bath. Roundhouse is a 2 story home duplex with separate entrances up & down.
